If you want the QB to be Emory you gotta be a participation trophy kind of person… back to the portal we go then Coleman v Nickel

MIcah Alejado from Hawaii could be an option. Made the list of the top 14 freshmen players, along with Malachi, for freshmen of the year. Was hurt early in the season. Last five games has averaged 358 yds per game, with 15 tds and 3 picks. Torched SDSU for 3 first half tds, on route to 38-6 win (SDSU was ranked 26th).

Only 5' 10" and 180lbs, but super accurate, with a good deep ball. He's a great scrambler, with very good accuracy on the run.

We possibly could have like 3 guys starting that's returning. Along with Cantwell we can grab one premium o-line portal guy as well. Don't know who said we losing the entire o-line.

Especially if Bell comes back. Have Samson & McCoy at both gaurd spots with Cantwell at RT spot. Bringing in 2 portal o-line for competition is good

He's better than N'Kosi Perry. Our defense mauled their entire offense. We won on every level. DL, LB, CB and S. Put him behind our OL and surround him with our talent and watch how his play elevates. He beat G. Tech with his legs and arm. Give me Bailey over Sellers. He's a better passer and still brings mobility with him.
 
The reality is that a coach should take the best players available. If you find that a player in the portal is elite or better than what you may have on your roster to take them.

This is not like the pros when you’re paying somebody $100 million a year. What has the quarterbacks on the roster done to dictate that we don’t take a chance on any portal quarterbacks?

Because if you are him, you are beating out anyone anyway, so it doesn’t matter who we bring in

I was against Bailey in high school. I wanted Anderson over Bailey 🤦🏾‍♂️. Bailey has obviously proven me wrong. I think you add him to our offense and his play will elevate and so will our offense because of his mobility. Kid is a winner and has the right intangibles. Not to forget, he won't be super expensive and we can allocate funds toward other positions like OL,TE, WR, DL and S.

That’s wishful thinking. Very few kids are ready to play and compete out of HS. Off the top of my old head, Peyton, Herschel, and god bless Baby Jesus. QB’s ready made are rare. It’s seems that it’s easier to let someone else season the kids and then pick them off their roster. I still believe in developing the ones that are close. But, IMO, that would fall on a dedicated QB coach. Best of both worlds. Works with recruits and whoever comes thru the portal. Just sayin’

We need a smart qb. Mendoza may not check all the physical tool boxes. Shoutout @DMoney but staff blew this. Say no to shiny option and yes to the football nerd with goo traits next time

Yes I don’t see how anyone can say we didn’t whiff on Mendoza. Would have cost us 50% less than Beck for either same or better production.

We need someone QUICK. Tamper the **** out of it and get it done right away.

I’m hearing they’ve learned their lesson (at least on timing). And kudos to the staff because they made Miami desirable for QBs
