Miami Does Not Need A Portal QB In 26

This either/or argument doesn’t get us anywhere.

No one on this roster is guaranteed a spot—whether they arrived as a high-school recruit or through the portal. Recruiting over players is not only acceptable, it’s expected. This is professional-level college football now, with billions of dollars at stake. It’s not an amateur youth league.

When you don’t recruit over players or are afraid they will leave if you do, you are guaranteeing spots…

Happened with QB1 before and RB1 this year.

I think we all keep seeing this Sellers to Miami discussion from the national reporters. Not sure how I would feel about that.

That incomplete pass to Jojo on the slant by Williams is all i needed to see -- he's still a quality back up

Then that deep ball by Nickel..... good lord
Was a good throw away, the Lb was baiting him into an int and he didn’t fall for it

Luke is the future he will beat Emory out next season …Can’t keep bringing in one year rentals at QB
Until we make a commitment to developing our QB recruits and they are 4 stars or better, we will need to bring in experienced rentals. Bc, what these recruits lack is experience and game time reps. Look at Arch Manning, super 5 stars. He lacked playing time and reps. It’s just now he’s starting to put it together.. maybe. Yall still need to develop and teach them. Techniques in throwing and footwork. Combined with situational awareness. Uncle Peyton is probably to only kid out of HS that I saw play as a freshman that got it/had it from day one. If my kid was a good QB, in this environment, I would have him opt to PLAY and learn at a good lower tier program, if possible. Playing but not learning and improving your tools can be soul crushing. I say we commit to developing kids, but also keep the Portal as an option. Sorry, but not seeing that here at my alma mater.

Appreciate the perspective, Mrs Williams

You play your best-

Iyou hit the portal-

To acquire more talent-

It’s work very well for us-

Who would thought Cam would have the season he had-

How about Scott and Thomas this year-They have been better than advertised.

Yes, I was about to say that the first pass we saw from Nickel was about 10 yards underthrown. Maybe not fair to judge but that did make me say "yikes" . It certainly was not good enough to warrant this OP saying we are set.
The fact that Nickel had gotten zero reps so far makes me think Mario doesn’t expect he’s going to start next year. You can add in the fact he is still behind Williams who we know is mediocre on the depth chart. And you can add in the talking the spring/summer about how much our offense and receivers looked once Beck came back. Which we know Beck wasn’t 100% right away. To me it was as much as an indictment of the play of our backups as it was positive of Beck.

Gonna be a tough sell for a 1 year rental. Losing the whole OL. 1 year guy is either gonna have to trust Mario or we’re gonna go with a 2 year guy (Bailey or Cal guy).

There are QBs on the roster right now that can get the ball to guys and win games next year.

Dawson recruited these guys and I'm sure he can win with them.
Lol why is your last post before the maudes killt you off 187...
