Miami considering hiring chief of football staff

Highsmith

Does anyone really know what AHs vision is? What his philosophy is? What we should look for in a coach, offense and defense?
He's succeeding at the pro level, but what does he know about succeeding at the college level (not questioning just asking a question)?

One of the biggest things holding this program back is that it is always living in the past.
"It worked in the 80s and 2000s, so It'll work now"
AH is a figure from the past and these types seem firmly tied to doing it the old way because that's how they made their legacy....

Not realizing that what made this program great was always being ahead of its time.

Would be nice to hear his thoughts on CFB, where it is now and where it is going, and what he envisions for this program. How to bridge the resource gap this private school has, etc.

I'd hate to hire a dude who isn't forward thinking and we got a lot of those surrounding the program.
I've spoken to too many people who've witnessed this season and still think "we just need to recruit some big boys from the midwest, line up in the I and just maul people"

Will people slobber and ejaculate over this like they were yesterday when the FSU news came out about them hiring one of these? is Miami "serious about football" if they do this? Lol

Sounds like a way for the AD to deflect blame. Such a weasal move.
Would you rather not have an actual football person in charge of things, all the top programs have big football staffs, if it's an opportunity not be mom and pop in area we should take it.

We need to get rid of phrases too, no more new Miami's no more bringing Miami back. Just get to the work

Several other schools, notably FSU and VT, recently hired football GM types, but in those two cases, they report to the head coach. That is very different from what we need. In our case, we have a bunch of SJW's in the athletic dept that dont know mierda/dreck/dung about sports, so we need this type of position to be above them. Aint going to happen fellas.

Yeah, let's cover up our adminstrative and operational deficiencies by creating more bureaucracy. I love Alonzo Highsmith as much as anyone, but if you think that this administration is truly going to empower him, or anyone, to take a radically different approach to running a football program you're kidding yourself.

Isn't Jen Strawley doing that already?
I mean she headed up.our head coaching search.
I think she is pretending to do that job but it’s crystal clear to anyone with brain cell left that she doesn’t know a god **** thing about football and should be relegated back to her other post of diversity officer because that’s the only thing that **** is maybe qualified to do! Highsmith will make sure she has nothing to do with ruining football coaching searches again.

Pretty sure they would have it be a position under both Blake and Manny. Thus the reason he said they would need to gel with Manny.

If nothing else, he's seen what hasn't worked in Cleveland.

That chief of staff position will only work if he DOESNT report to Blake and outranks him in terms of decision making .

Bottom line , the under qualified former head of ticket sales needs to be completely removed from any contact with football . Otherwise I hope that worthless piece of **** gets hit by a small truck

No way Blake James hires Alonzo Highsmith for any role. James would want a scapegoat, not a guy capable of replacing him.

Interesting

I hate Blake James.

A. Announce a POSSIBLE improvement to the program (on the same day that F$U actually does the same thing).
B. Be vague about when, if ever, said improvement will be made.

So he acknowledges the problem, without giving any specifics as to when he will fix it. A perfect recipe to enrage the fan base.

I hate Blake James.

Highsmith makes the most considering they canned Kitchens this morning

Apparently Highsmith was brought in by their current GM Dorsey. They are buddies (imagine that, lol). Looks like Dorsey may be on hot seat as well.
