Miami considering hiring chief of football staff

Itll be no different than a football gm. They cant hire or fire a coach without permission, either.

I imagine IF it happens itll be w the understanding that Manny gets to make his changes and cant be fired before next season. After that, you've got the green light to move on, especially if you bring your Colombus pipeline brethren, Mario.

Thing big. Think someone who is above Manny, maybe lateral to Blake James but solely responsible for Football. This person would help in all organizational matters, recruiting, and general guidance of the football program. This would include being involved in screening of staff hires....
After all, that's what his experience is for.....

Blake James retains all other duties of AD for all other sports, including the stuff he is good at - fundraising.

Exactly. Can Mick Mulvaney fire Trump? This "chief of staff" language should be a red flag. It's all freakin pointless even if the dude is a co-equal to Diaz in the power structure.
A guy like Alonzo would never even entertain the job if he didn’t have full autonomy. And that’s a fact! So if the rumor is that he’s coming you can better believe he’ll be in charge of everything football and the buck stops with him. I think just maybe the power players in the BOT are waking up to the fact that it’s going on over 15 years of doing the same thing and expecting different results, maybe the powers that be are sick of being insane! Just maybe that’s the case.

Yeah, but unless that dude can fire Manny and get rid of the trinkets and cultural BS, the OC won't matter. At all.

Yeah, but we can't expect arguably Manny's biggest cheerleader to get that at all. 100% of his eggs now have to be in that basket.

Assuming we get someone good in this position, that could help level the play field for us regarding the complexities of modern, successful CFB staffs.

I keep saying it - we are not that far from at least locking down the Coastal IF our leadership is there. That Coastal dominance should start in 2020 before Mack gets a head of steam.
