Miami beats the Cuse... well....

Miami pulls away from the Cuse after a desultory first half by the score of 38-10. In many ways it was like the Stanford victory. You can get away with a slow start against teams of this caliber and then pour it on late and win handily. But it still leaves you wondering how they fare vs better teams

I like the fact UM came out in spread and throwing the ball around a bit, I just wish they would add some quic-tempo to it. What I found interesting is the gadget plays Dawson brought out late as the game was basically over.

I did like the fact that due to injuries we saw some young guys flash like Pringle and Upshaw. Trader had some drops but the reality is you probably need to keep feeding him with the injury to CJ Daniels.

Miami wins, they are 7-2 now. Now they have some tougher games. Im not convinced that how they played today (especially in the first half) is good enough to win out against the remaining schedule.

People complained about us running the ball up 3 possessions against FSU in the 4th quarter...
 
Complete lack of continuity in his play calling. The reverse pass could have about 4-5 options off it. Straight handoff to the RB with the motion. P/A off both the Rb and Toney with a shot downfield. P/A with a screen to the RB. P/A with a throw to Toney. And just a straight reverse. You run that 3-4x a game using the different options and it will stress a defense out. But we’ll likely never see it again.
 
The offense stalled out in the first half because we could not block. Bell gave up a sack and Maignoa gave up a pressure that ended a drive. Once we settled down and started blocking correctly the offense got it rolling. This was by far the best play calling we have seen this season from Dawson. We just did not execute in the first quarter. Let’s hope the aggressive and creative play calling continues.

No it didn’t and no he didn’t. It was the same slow tempo, no rhythm offense. Just random plays at random times. The only continuity is running most of the time on 1st down and 3rd and short.

I didnt know we'd have 2 losses by now, but I knew when I bought the Pitt tickets (right after the FSU game) that that was the dreaded let down game.

who knows though. people want to ***** about 4 touchdown wins against conference opponents andgoing 10-2. this year is a let down but that's pretty wild considering the last 20 years
