Met a guy who interns for an NFL agent

So, agents are talking to their clients about potential opportunities in their field? I'm missing the big revelation here. Don't they do that 24/7/365?

I'm guessing the relevance is that they consider Miami a potential opening in the near future, meaning Golden's days are apparently numbered.

Rex Ryan would pucker Jimbo's ******** up real good.

Hue Jackson intrigues me. Watched him on Hard Knocks, very impressive. Dude would shred these amateur hour ACC defenses and you know he would hire a bad mother ****er to coach up the D. Recruits down here would respond to his demeanor.

Daddy likey.

Not as a head coach but I put Bryan Cox in that category too- based on Hard Knocks alone.

Brian Cox Da Gawd...would take him as the DL coach TOMORROW. Bet your *** that our DTs wouldn't be playing patty cake with him around. He'd make Wyche into something useful and get every ounce of talent out of those dudes. Sigh...yet another pipe dream.

Rex would be fun and sure will tell people to go get ...... if they gave him crap about players acting up. He is big enough but not sure he is enough of discipline guy to control kids.

Rex's players would take a bullet for him. The Jets have a horrible roster and they still compete because of how much the players love playing for him.

Discipline is a non-issue other than penalties. Rex Ryan teams play hard.

Agree...i might even be willing to forgive cox for not wrapping up natrone means in the 95 playoffs on the chargers GW drive. (Means stepped out anyways)

THIS x 1,000,000

look no further than comparing fins to jets: both teams openly talk about their respect for their HCs. One would perceive that either would go through a wall for one of them. The difference? The jets roster is completely devoid of talent. They have the worst roster in the nfl bar none. The fins have at worst a playoff caliber roster and will finish with 8 wins. Philbin is another folden...can get the players to buy in but has no concept of leading them beyond their comfort level. Rex ryan is absolutely a great coach AND leader. I would give 5 yrs off my life for him to coach UM. Will never happen but my god, we would get anyone we want in south florida.

A sports agent keeping tabs on which college jobs might open is his job. There are only so many top 50 jobs that open every year, so the fact that he might push a client towards a certain school isn't because the job holds a certain prestige, it's because it pays $3MM +/- in salary to his client and that represents a nice commission for an agent. Sports agents look at jobs and candidates like real state agents look at buyers and property…they aren't sentimental at all, they just see dollar signs (as they should).

I can't stand Rex Ryan. But imagining him here at Miami and it almost makes me want to like the guy if he comes here. The more I think about it, the more I don't hate the idea.

The Hue Jackson rumor has legs ... But with the number of NFL openings likely this season, he'll probably get a gig. I'd guess Atlanta or Oakland for him.

****, he may even get the Dolphins job.

Oakland? The job he was fired from after 1 season of going 8-8 and earning to stay? You think Reggie McKenzie hires him back? I don't think there is a chance in **** he comes back. He shouldn't have been fired in the first place. But Raiders are going to make a full court press for Harbough, especially with Gruden re-signing to ESPN.

Rex would actually make one **** of a college coach. His personality would translate well with recruiting. NFL lifer though...
This.

I think Ryan would be a great college coach. He would be able to recruit his balls off, players would love playing for him and he would have a dominant defense. I don't see him moving down the college ranks and even if he begged the admins to hire him for free they never would, he's too alpha for a ***** like Blake James.

I think now or whenever Golden hopefully gets fired would be a great time to pickup a coach of Rex or Hue's status. With so many rumors of assistants taking NFL jobs I'm sure some are going to want to coach CFB and we'd be a pretty desirable place since we're set on offense with Kaaya leading the way.

If our *** *** admin/BOT thought Dan Mullen was ****y wait until they get in a room with Rex Ryan.

Miami can't afford Rex Ryan, but Hue Jackson interest me, I think he'd be a **** good recruiter and he'd develop QB's and the offense very well. All he would need to do is put together a good So Fla. staff and a real DC. I support Hue Jackson to Miami, players would love him

Would Rex Ryan be a good college coach?

I'm not saying he wouldn't. Just not sure if it's a slam dunk. Would he want to deal with 19 year-olds' bull****? He'd have to simplify his defense a little bit. I feel like he'd have to hire a good staff of recruiters because I think he'd hate it.

With all his contacts, he'd likely hire a kick-*** staff.
