If we're going to fantasize the whole Rex coming here as HC thing, let's conjure up Gruden as a quarterbacks coach and OC (he picks Dorsey as his assistant OC, so 2 years later hands it over to Kenny when he bolts back to the TV booth), Vince retires at New England and coaches up our Dline (which automatically magnetizes every 5 star DT prospect on the planet), Reggie just retired to come back and coach receivers, and Ray of course the Dbacks...or maybe Ed Reed for same in case Ray is ****ed about his kid, and of course maybe Dan Morgan for LB's if his concussion baked head has healed up.

Can that work?

All this talk about potential coaches out there has got me thinking. Have any of you guys given any thought to Butch Davis? I mean, he's not even coaching right now, and he really seemed to like "The U" in that movie I saw on ESPN the other night.

Rex Ryan and UM? lol. Never happen and it would be an awful fit. Rex is an awful head guy. Same for Hue. They are both coordinators.

He may be an awful HC in the NFL(although awful is pushing it), highly doubt that in college he'd be awful. Plus Hue Jacksonvhad one stint as a HC with the awful Raiders who had no talent whatsoever. Both were screwed by idiot GMs. Rex got the Jets to two AFC championship games with Sanchez at QB. Think about that for a second. Plenty of guys sucked at the NFL level as HCs but could coach at the college level.

Jury might be out but awful? Jackson had one yr at 8-8 on the raiders, which actually looks like an accomplishment from afar. And any guy that can take a rookie and 2nd yr mark sanchez 'led' team to 2 afc title games is a legit coach in my eyes. Rex's whole schtick started to wear out but i think it had just as much to do with the fact they squeezed any ounce of quality they had out of sanchez. The nfl makes adjustments and with sanchez there was no 'meat on the bone'. Chip jelly is a genius and sanchez is barely avg with him.

rex is basically a lame duck in ny. Obviously more likely he ends up in the nfl, but hey we can all dream of the possibilities.

I heard from a friend in Hialeah (Raul Martinez) that the recently fired coach Chevas Clements would be a great match for The U. My sources several AD at Coral Reef stated he would be a great match and his buy out would cost next to nothing. This is a reputable source since he used to work for Shapiro. I know this might not be real, but it would be great for The U.

**** Rexy is a lot like Harbaugh in my opinion....really good coaches, can get the most out of their talent, but they can only do it for so long with highly paid professionals.

Harbaugh is a legitimate crazy person. His **** isn't gonna fly with dudes that make more money than he does past a certain point. However, with 20 year olds who need discipline, Harbaugh is perfect.
