Mensah better than Carr

Some of y’all are saying wild stuff about ND. I can’t stand them either, but don’t let the hate make you delusional.

They’re going to have a much better D‑line, Carr’s in year two, and they just landed the No. 4 overall recruiting class per 247. They’re almost definitely going to be more athletic, faster, and stronger up front than they were last year, and we might take a step back on the O-line.

That game is going to be war.

My top 5 QBs are (in no order) Moore, Mensah, Sorsby, Manning and Carr.
Moore has all the physical tools but he’s going to have to show me more between the ears next year before I put him on top(not saying you are, but NFL scouts). He really struggled against Indiana who does a good job disguising their blitz packages, which just so happens to be what he’ll be facing a lot of once he gets to the league.

There is no alternate universe or multiverse where they would be 8 to 9 point favorites over us unless we actually are a **** team and no one knows it yet
Okay, JHall, you're right. Let me remind you that the betting public made Indiana an 8.5 favorite AT THE ROCK for basically boat racing Nunneries in the B1G (aside from OSU, Oregon and Iowa). I fully expect the Irish to run their Clown Show schedule opponents (other than USC) out of the building and build up a head of steam with CJ Carr under center. If the Irish aren't putting up 40 points a game like we are, they'll need to shut that program down. The head of steam they are going to build up is going to be a sight to behold.

The Canes are going to be a 7 point dog for that game. Possibly higher. We could be sending in the 2001 Team into South Bend and we would still be a 7 point dog. Mensah could be the Second Coming of Johnny Unitas and it won't matter. The National Money is going to be moving ND's way that week. I can feel it now, and it's only February. Josh Pate's glazing of ND has kind of given permission to everyone else to start the process.

I'm not sure why you guys think so lowly of Carr. He is a **** of a QB that can scramble, he's big, and has an excellent arm. If he stays healthy he'll be at the Downtown Athletic club someday for a presentation. Yes, I know we all can't stand ND but the kid has the goods period.
Carr is not a great scrambler, is not big, arm is decent but very accurate. He is a good QB but Mensah is a more dynamic player and a better QB

Youre entitled to your completely wrong opinion

God bless or whatever

In the 5 games they played against good opponents Carr averaged 216 yards and had 9 TDs and 5 INTs. I think he's a good QB but he's not better than Mensah. He's capable of doing enough and I think he'll be a top 15-20 QB next year. Mensah will be top 5.

Better said, if someone offered you a trade of Carr for Mensah would you take it? I think you'd be crazy if you did.

Not afraid of CJ Carr at all. Mensah is 10000% the better and more dangerous QB. I love all of this hype they are getting and I hope they are undefeated when we go up there.
I think how strong our 2026 offense will ultimately be is hinged on how well we re-tool the OL which I am confident in since Mirabal and Mario specialize in that. This will be a very good offense IMO next year just how good depends on the OL. I am optimistic.

Right I think all our fans would say the biggest question mark is the OL

That’s the bad news

The good news is if we had one position group we could “figure it out” it would be OL. They take the group too seriously to let it slip too much

i agree. Our extremely talented RB and WR room plus Mensah can overcome a little slip in the OL I think. but we still need solid play there at least or our NC hopes could be in question. It all starts up front.

Mensah moves really well in the pocket. He’s not a runner, but he’s athletic enough where he could be. I don’t expect him to be Cam-like there but he’s light years ahead of Beck in that regard

They pretty much have built a team specifically to beat Miami after what we did to them.

As of now, this is gonna be the game of the college football season.

The best DL our OL will face will be on Greentree. Coaches will have a full understanding of their baseline capabilities by the first game of the season.

You don't know **** about CFB teams until you spot the ball. That said, ND will be the most talented team we play, and Carr vs. Mensah is going to be a show. Those are the two top QBs in CFB, IMO. I think last year's storyline about "the snub 2.0" largely fizzled out when we played for the championship, but the media will talk that up big time. All else equal, I expect that line to open ND -3.5. People talking about TD or higher are smoking crack.

Hmmm, I've watched about 8 of their games this year. I don't know what you're talking about but the kid can SCRAMBLE IF HE HAS TO, just ask the UM DL. He is an extremely accurate passer and his arm strength is fine. Mensah is an excellent QB and we are lucky to have him but CJ Carr is going to be a star and I dislike ND more than anyone. I'm just calling it like I see it.
