Miami will enter the season as the favorite to successfully defend their ACC Coastal title from last season, according to members of the media.

With 122 of 148 first place votes, the Canes are the clear-cut frontrunners for their second division title. The Virginia Tech Hokies are considered their primary competition with 16 first place votes, followed by GT (8) and Duke (1). UNC also scored a first place vote as well.

The media is also predicting an ACC Championship rematch by giving Clemson the edge in the Atlantic, as the Tigers sewed up all but 4 first place votes on the other side of the conference. The Tigers lead the way in votes to win the ACC as well, scoring 139, followed by Miami (5), NC State (2), Florida State (1), and Virginia Tech (1).

Who picked Duke...

Duke is always well coached. They can finish second because they just won't beat themselves and the other teams in the coastal will do some stupid stuff here and there.

I CANNOT REMEMBER A YEAR WHEN WE WEREN'T THE FAVORITES TO WIN THE COASTAL.

Anyone?

Correct me if Im wrong but....Even in the Shannon and Golden years we were always the favorites

There's no excuse to not win the Coastal. This is the weakest the Division has been in a decade.

The Atlantic might be the weaker division this year. FSU is going to suck, and they are picked second.

1. Clemson, 1,031 points (145)
2. Florida State, 789 (1)
3. N.C. State, 712 (2)
4. Boston College, 545
5. Louisville, 422
6. Wake Forest, 413
7. Syracuse, 232

Too funny but the Media doesn't play football games, therefore don't view their prediction as guidance. Our first game will tell us plenty about Richt as a coach and our progress from last year.

the Atlantic is not very good this year. Neither is the coastal to be honest. UM and Clemson are top 5 teams IMO but FSU might be top 25 but not top 15 at all. UM really has no excuse to lose more then 2 games including ACCT and bowl IMO.
