Mane all ive done is tell the truth lol… ive said it before..I never understood the hype Miami fans, and cfb in general had for the guy..i remember the OAK mess. A job nobody knows exactly how he got..turns out it was a Al Davis making one of the worse Coaching hires to date at that time. I remember being a kid watching the Lane to Tenn news break on College game day..Tenn wasn’t the joke it has become today back then..the crew CRUSHED the idea of him getting that Job based on absolutely nothing he had accomplished..
I remember him leaving in the night to go to SC..The Hype. And then the sanctions he had to endure m..the talent he was still able to attract..then 2012 came, and SC was supposed to be back..Barkley, Marquis’ Lee, Agohlar, Woods..that team was LOADED. Ranked 1. Then went 7-6. Then starts the next szn 2-3 or something like that he’s fired on the team bus.
Then he goes to the coaching rehabilitation clinic in Alabama..did a Great job as the OC..Then gets fired days before the Natty. Next He’s all on TV staying relevant (Thanks Jimmy sexton) ..goes to FAU does pretty well..now he’s resurfaced again at Ole miss..and once again based Off one good szn, can’t take that away from him, somehow once again here he is being rumored to elite job openings..and here are Miami fans once again eating it up as tho there’s anything in his now 15 plus career that validates him being the guy for THIS task. It make no sense. Screams of everything that’s wrong in the coaching industry that goes beyond just cfb..we say we need a established proven guy..we say we don’t want a HC who failed at stops..and yet Lane kiffin..somehow someway is the candidate a lot of ppl want
Like how you glossed over FAU where he did "pretty well." Under Kiffen they won C-USA titles twice in 3 years. In Lane's 1st year FAU won the conference title 41-17. In 2019, they won the conference title 49-6. In 2016, before Kiffin arrived, FAU was 3-9. Kiffen did have a bad year 2 when the team went 5-7. Winning 2 of the school's only 3 conference titles within 3 years is much better than ok. Quite frankly I'd take that in a heartbeat as we have never won an ACC title and have appeared in the title game once in 2017 since joining the conference.
Kiffin has continued his success at Ole Miss where he has the 10th rated recruiting classes within the conference. He's doing more with less.
People point to Kiffin's QB Corral as his success and what will he do without him? What team, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, has been successful in recent years without a top QB? Nobody!! They all have great QBs. That's part of the formula for winning titles.
I don't know what these "red flags" are supposedly. Funny how people claim they're there, but say nothing of what they are. I say it's BS. Anyone running CIS could simply say "allegedly" and be covered legally, but nobody says anything, but "red flags" to get fans off of Kiffen and behind Mario.
I don't care if we get Mario or Lane. If Mario comes, he's going to have fans on watch notice waiting for the bad losses where he'll be crucified like Manny. The team has a talented roster. The fans know that. Fans are expecting TVD to accelerate next year. We should go undefeated in the Coastal as all the marquee QBs will be gone and we'll have the best QB in the league.
So, 8 wins would be a minimally acceptable year 1, but would land Mario on the hot seat year 2. We know this team should have won 10 to 11 games this year. They should win 10 games next year. 8 wins would be underachieving, but would get a pass. Fans are expecting the offense to keep humming. Any regression will fall on Mario’s lap.
This roster has talent. I'm expecting the next coach to take us to another level out of mediocrity. That person has to do so without regressing. There's plenty of talent to run the Coastal undefeated. Any mediocrity will trigger a fan revolt. That's the job. See Manny Diaz.
