I don't think we're going to any games this year. As I read these things and reflect on our personal experience with Golden, I can't say I want to come down this season.

I'm disgusted by this. Duke a "Me" guy? Chick? Phillip? I watched these "Me" guys all but adopt Carter last season. Duke and his mother are the ONLY ones that kept up with Carter post make a wish. Not Golden, not Blake, not Donna, NOBODY but the "Me" guy and the his "loud mouthed" mom. Harry from AllCanes checked in but I don't count him as part of UM per se.

Then TheDude tried to slander me to turn me into what he was told, into a "Me" guy because of my comments post FSU.

I've never been so ticked about UM as I am right now. Have a ton of love for guys like Tracy, and Chad, who still reside on the team, and want to support them in person, but I'm beside myself right now.

Golden is the fakest mother fvcker in college football.

His time at Miami is the last chance he'll ever have to cash big paychecks and he's showing what a scumbag he is, throwing kids under the bus and trashing their character to excuse his failures.

I know SMD reads these boards. Mrs. Susan, please ask Golden how Carter is doing, and when was the last he spoke with Carter or his family. I know the answer obviously, but what would be exposed, is who the real "Me" guy is.

So because Golden opened up the team to Carter and your family at some point and brought them to practices or whatever else, he is a bad guy because he doesn't continue to do so and doesn't continue to communicate with your family? Many programs and coaches wouldn't have done any of that in the first place, so they already went above and beyond what most programs do. There are hundreds of terribly sick children out there, should all of the families that the UM coaches don't keep tabs on be upset with them as well, or be upset because they chose to spend time with your family and not theirs? That Duke has formed a special relationship with Carter and has maintained that is wonderful, and a great reflection on Duke. That the coaching staff didn't maintain the relationship isn't a negative reflection on them.

While I do not care for the overall coaching performance of the team, the fact is you would not have had access to the players without Golden's consent. Don' t let your opinion be shaped by a bunch of miserable Internet posters. Making negative comments after you were given the opportunity to spend time with the team comes across as ungrateful. I am sure you are not. Sometimes perception is stronger than reality.
Your sons health and happiness is more important than our opinions or the wins and losses of a football team. I know many are pulling for him.

Golden was not a coach for anyone or for players to rally around at time of adversity; all Football loss is adversity.

Your son and his spirit is one force the team rallied around and I believe it led to solid and inspiring performance. Your experience with Golden at the bus is telling and perhaps a reflection that Golden likes not which shines glory away from him as tho he'd be some great savior/genius. When your son was out of some circulation (medically necessary at that time) for treatment and correction, the team was also not winning games. And as Golden fears & incompetence tanked the FSU game, players had nothing strong anymore to rally around except for themselves. After that there was no more team since the Head of the team let them down. Golden let the team down, yes, and players questioned the team's resolve. Golden is not a strong person when the lights are out. His responses with the Hunter Knighton may have to do with mitigation and self-preservation as the heat problem could have gone back on Golden and UM as liability to his future and UM; but he and even his spouse played the truly caring role there. By the end of the season and those last 4 games, players might have not had much more to play for but for themselves...

I've been scared of accepting what folks were calling the Carter factor, which we heard a lot at the VT game. I've always chalked it up to coincidence. Arguments could be made both ways. Appreciate you thinking so highly of Carter nonetheless.

You have nothing to be scared of my friend, this is what the players and coaches deal with all the time including Duke. I respect you and thank you for sharing your honest opinion with us regarding your experience. Here is my honest opinion.

1. First of all, I never heard Golden or any of the staff mention who the "me" guys were from last year. People on the board are the ones saying it's the high profile guys like Duke and Denzel and blowing it out of proportion, but it's all speculation. All I heard from the coaches is the team is tighter, trust each other more, and communicate better. They are less selfish than last year. Duke's buddies like Tracy are the ones saying that. Herb admitted to not being mature in the past.

2. Did you check with Golden on how his wife was doing or how he was handling all the heat from the media and fans and the banners? Probably not, that does not mean you don't care about him. He simply is not your close friend. The team visits hospitals every year and there are a lot of people that have it worse than Carter and never got the opportunity to meet the team. I doubt Golden follows up on many of them to see how they are doing after. They do it to put a smile on the kids and to encourage them and get positive media coverage. He did his job by facilitating the visit, I'm sure Carter was more excited to meet the players than the coaches, anything more is entitlement from your side.

3. I'm sorry you were disappointed that he did not seek you and your wife out after the game... I don't know what to tell you, you are not the top priority for Golden, does that make him a bad person? I think it was very classy for you to seek him out and thank him, but to publicly complain that he did not come to look for you like everyone else and that he only gave a half smile and didn't stop what he was doing to get up and give you hand shake.... then to ask Susan to ask golden how is Carter? seriously...

As far as two and three, sure, but we've definitely moved on from Golden. Sold us on things that never happened. Kind of person I am, I do what I say I'm going to do in instances like these. Maybe that's too much to ask. He hasn't been one to do what he says very often at all, and my point of bringing up what happened was to show you who he is, from my personal experience with him directly. Not hearsay like many on this board.

When Carter was available for the school, they were present, when he was no longer, they weren't. It's NOT what we were lead to believe by Golden. Can I swallow the truth that what you are saying is true, sure, but it's not positive reflection on Golden, any way you try to spin this back on me.

He involved himself in our personal lives, made promises, didn't keep them. For clarity I will say again, we wanted to go Disney for the week, go to a Friday practice or something, then the game that Saturday. They wanted us for the duration of our time in Florida. Not the other way around. Hindsight, I should've known better than feel like it would be what I thought it would, based off of what I knew, but chose to be ignorant.

Plenty of those same people(they talked about it in the WEZ and not here) took their shots at DHucks for being in Golden's pocket. Calling the father of a sick child an attention *****. "He's using his son".

They wanted to take shots at him but the poor babies couldn't because the guy did have a kid that was struggling with his health. More than anything it ****ed them off that he was part of a positive story about the program when all they wanted was for the thing to burn to the ground.

He can't coach 4-5 star players to win games yes these guys are headstrong and that's what makes them All Americans Golden can't manage Alpha Dogs plain and simple he's used to 1-2 star players who think he's God and follow him with no resistance win lose or draw!

I've never thought I'd see the day where somebody would be an apologist about golden blowing off DHucks.
