Mcintosh hears from Draft Board

Saw on twitter that he draft board has advised RJ to rerun tonschool for his final year!!!!

Much like the news I got from the Draft Board in 1969. Returned for one year of graduate school before a three year career with t he US Army.:ambivalence:

He’s a true junior so strength wise, he’s not close and relies purely on his quickness (which is elite). Him and Norton return and we’re preseason top 5. They both should return.

People dont realize how rare it is for underclass DT to go early in draft, for us to have 2 guys think about leaving was always mind boggling. We have too many guys thinking about draft after they have like 2 good games, like who told michael jackson he should even be thinking about leaving?

Give me McIntosh back and I’m good. I know y’all want Norton back bc we don’t have anyone like him but I’ll deal with whoever is next to McIntosh and ride with it

I think Ford can fill in for Norton. Ford is massive. We don’t have anyone like RJ on our current roster.

McIntosh seems like a smart enough kid to not leave early only to be a 4th-5th round pick. Let's hope he proves me true because he can easily earn himself millions of dollars by playing his senior year.

For all of the good plays Jackson had during the year, I can show him 2 plays against Pittsburgh that he would hope the draft board did not see.

They claim Willis is the best DT we have including RJ and KungFu Kenny. Let's pray he can stay on the field for once.

True

I think he was leaning to the league at first but now he should definitely change his mind. I'm sure he sees the value in not only getting a whole extra year of tape to show off his ability but also he has a chance to capitalize on all the eyes that will be on the team next year - specifically the defense.

I have zero faith that Willis actually plays another down of football for Miami. Kid hasn’t been able to be productive in like 5 years of college so I doubt it starts now. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t even think of him when looking at our projected team next year.

Not suprised. Dudes keep saying he is a 1st or 2nd round pick dont know what they are talking about. I like mcintosh and he had a good year but not good enough to leave early for the draft. I think if one of them comes back it will be him. Norton just seems like he is gone regardless.

There were a few plays that he looked like a 1st rounder, but that can be said of practically every DT out there. He has a ton of talent, but he's got to put it together and consistently dominate if he wants 1-2 round money. He should come back and do just that.

Why is it so hard to live in Coral Gables for an extra year? So many of these kids are desperate to leave as early as they can when staying almost always ensures them more money and a more prosperous career. Richt better be pointing to Yearby and Kaaya when he sits down with these Juniors who don't know any better.

Just one man just one of them needs to stay and we are a legit contender next year so long as Perry is as advertised. If Perry is who they’ve said he is, he can take us far with the influx of talent. One of these two just one to go with Willis and then followed by Ford and Bethel gives us a legitimate DT 2 deep and leaves no question marks on D.

I knew that would be the NFL's advice. Unfortunately, UM players tend not to listen to sound advice when it comes to leaving early. I'm hoping RJ reverses that trend.

Before anyone gets too optimistic, all this translates into is that he was told he isn't likely a first or second round pick. If his goal is to just be drafted and 3rd or 4th round will suffice he wasn't told that is off the table.

I am almost certain Walton, Kayaa, Yearby and a whole host of other Canes going back to Forston, Streeter, etc. were told no different and it didn't matter at all.

If we can keep 1 of the two DTs I consider it a huge win for next season.

I hope it works out for Walton, but everyone else on that list should have listened to what they were told.

Go Canes!

I think a factor in that bad trend is that many of those who didn't listen had kids or other financially pressing issues,
as well as dumb people in their ear giving them bad advise - especially about that "second contract" B.S.
I could be wrong as I don't know the young man, but I get the impression RJ doesn't come from one of those particularly bad
situations.

it's time for miami to buck that trend, I can understand not wanting to play for the last staff for one more year bc the development was not there and his scheme was trash but this is a certified new staff with a good resume... #comeback

There's no reason for UM players to be in such a rush to leave here anymore if everything we hear about Rick is accurate. Like you said, it was understandable for guys to want to run from that toxic situation that was here before Rick at the first chance.

It's tough to win big when your big men leave before you get the best from them. You count on those big men to be at their best and wreaking havoc in their 4th year in the program.

I'm usually understanding about players leaving early, but McIntosh should come back.

His biggest weakness is physical strength. He can get stronger here. You don't want to go into the NFL weak.
