Max Johnson to start per 247?

Am I missing something? How on god’s green earth is this man being calles “mobile”?

He led Lsu to 6-6, lost the starting job to an actual pinhead at TexAm, now gets 4 days of reps with the 1’s before playing his first game in a new/bad Jimbo offense in a must win game in front of 108k fans that will boo the moment things go sideways.

Annihilate this kid in the pocket. Make him see ghosts. Break his legs. Have King come back in to a living nightmare.

Who called him mobile? Everyone is saying the complete opposite.

With Miami's contain issues I'm shocked they're not going with the running QB. I honestly think they could gash us with a mobile QB.
Not with a mobile QB who runs four times and fumbles twice like King did last week vs App State.

Jumbo is making the switch because he obviously thinks Johnson gives him a better chance for success.

We’ll be able to play more man to man coverage since Johnson isn’t the threat to run.

Not sure how many here have actually ever watched the guy play. He likes to check down, is often throwing high on anything down the field. Does not really possess precision accuracy. Keep aTm's skill players in front of you and don't let them get chunk yards after the catch.

Somebody posted earlier that Johnson racked up some impressive rushing stats in aTm’s spring game.

In other words, meaningless…

I missed that but yes, meaningless lol. Mfs run free in a spring game knowing they won’t get touched. Means nothing. Fvck this kid up tomorrow night.

Jimbo runs the offense at A&M and hasn't changed it much since 2014. Doesn't matter who the QB is, if they can't run the ball it won't set up their passing game.

Remember when Marco Wilson threw a shoe at the end of the game and gave Max Johnson another chance to win the game? Good times…

1) Don’t do something stupid like that to help the other team.

2) Don’t let a QB making his first start of the season suddenly go all “Kenny Pickett” on you.

I don't know if he gets that shot. If they're attacking Tyrique, it's on a double move up the field or straight away with one of their sub-11 100m players. I suspect his best plays for us this Saturday will be defending the deep 1/3, but that's if he even gets a chance.
He’s got to make it happen. Big time players, make big time plays in big time games!

Thank you for posting this, basically confirms my memory and most stats I’ve seen. Pretty inaccurate on intermediate and beyond. They’re likely going to keep throws short for the most part and rely on their athletes (who ARE dangerous, make no mistake) to break off long gains.

As I’ve said, the defense just needs to get pressure on Johnson and play disciplined. No silly mistakes, or at least limit it to very few. Don’t beat ourselves, basically.

Here are his highlights against Miss St. This was his best game of the year last year.

By the way, what a collision these two had.

That Palmer throw… dude had nobody within 15 yards and it was still underthrown

We just can’t afford any massive coverage busts like that. That kind of goes for any game in general, but especially a big game like this with a crowd like theirs.

I don’t like the story line of “Former Miami Coach Richt’s Nephew Takes It To His Former Team”. I hope that Max is who he is and that we see him the whole game. I really don’t want to see rotating QBs as this defense needs to focus and that would be potentially problematic IMO.
