Maurice Smith Alabama DB transfer

Our non-alum "fans" are the worst in the country

Not an accurate statement at all. You can bash Miami sports fans as being "fair weather", but there is no evidence that non-Miami-alum fans are worse than any other fans, ESPECIALLY Alumni. Miami's student population is made up heavily of out-of-state undergrads. A vast majority of them return home after graduation or move elsewhere - thus, why Alumni support and attendance is so **** low.

Do Alumni care a lot about UM and the football program? For the most part, yes. But the reality is non-Alums supported UM well before most of us did, have had season tickets longer than any of us have and are the primary force behind trying to bring the program back from the dead. I'd be willing to bet almost all of the funding for last year's banners came from non-alums.

Either you with us or you not. Dont need anyone to be "forced" to be at Miami. come on or fak off

Not being a dicc, but with this logic, we never would have signed KWII. We were the compromise between he and his father. He wanted to go to Washington, and I think his dad wanted him to go to Mich. St. (IIRC)

I think it's as simple as Saban doesn't want to face this kid in the SEC title game with the national championship on the line.

yeah the logic of "if he doesn't want to be here f him" is a little much....technically, artie burns saiid LSU was his dream school and wanted to go there but picked UM for various reasons instead....get elite talent on campus however we can

Alabama's graduation ceremony is held on the 6th. Probably should get an answer relatively soon. Once Smith graduates, ol' Nicky doesn't have much of a say on where this kid goes. You'd think other players would see this situation and think twice about going there.

Graduation ceremony doesn't mean actual graduation. Depending on school, grades may not be entered by then. Knowing how rabid Alabama fans are, it wouldn't be beneath them for an instructor to hold him back.

They just mentioned this kid's story on ESPN's Mike and Mike .
(And they mentioned nothing about the Canes being an option.)

I hope they do and he gets ticked off enough to get the government involved for them to lose their accreditation and the IRS looking at their football players. Local and state government won't be able to protect them from the IRS.

The kid just needs to look out for his immediate future and head to Coral Gables for the start of camp. He will already be rushing to enroll, move in etc. No need to draw this thing out and be stuck in a place he clearly wants to leave.

Doesn't matter. Still needs Alabama's approval to transfer and not sit out a year even if he graduates.

You need to get a grad-transfer approved too? I thought once you had that bachelor's you can go where you want as long as you enroll in a graduate course your original school doesn't offer.

I was fan long before I became an alum. But then again I am native from before there were many of us.

I have never noticed it being that way for anyone else, but don't doubt you information. Still, leave it to Bama to be the one who enforces it. Even to a Southerner like me, that is hanging onto the chains too hard.(All puns intended)

Welcome to the NCAA where coaches can choose and leave schools as they wish but students can't.

yeah didnt think of that. professor could give him an "I" to delay his graduation. Wouldnt put it past that ****ty school

THere is something about being a canes fan since you are a little kid that people that just go to school at UM can not understand..so yes that statement is out of bounds.
I am an alum and completely agree, but will add that I also support and encourage U academic excellence as well.
