Maurice Smith Alabama DB transfer

Whats funny is I watch college football and gamble on it religiously, watch Alabama all the time...and I dont remember Maurice Smith ever making a play or even on the field that much and now we have him penciled in as a starter and hes better then Elder...LMAO...... you guys are phucking hillarious... I mean I want us to be good too but come the ***** on....Dude was beat out by multiple freshman..he may be decent but he aint that good....Yall boys trying some real canes and getting hard for one and only one reason... becausehe played for Alabama. he was never a starter and he is here for depth reason only....if he does play I wouldnt expect an all ACC player here

Honestly, how many of the CB's on our roster currently would start for Bama? They are loaded with talent. It is not unreasonable to think that this guy can start here immediately. He is a senior, was coached well, and has played in some big games against tough competition.I'm not saying he will be All ACC or anything but he will push our current CB'S hard and will most likely start or be heavily involved from day-1.

Bro U like him because ha plays for Alabama it..and he was coached by the lil midget that's it. Corn Elder was just as highly rated an athlete coming out if high school l... And I don't get what u mean.. If your saying none of our corners would start at alabammy this guy didn't start either!!!!! I highly doubt he is better or as good as Elder... This same board was trashing burns most of his career and claiming he nor bush would start at Alabama....as a matter of fact the beginning of the year we all felt elder was our best cover corner better then Burns....and now some bench player is gonna come in and be better then our starting corner jus because he was a 4 star and played special teams st Alabama ... Mind u dude doesn't have an interception his whole career at bama but yet he's better then aElder

I don't know about dude starting, but like Antonio Crawford it seems this isn't a talent issue. I think he will add to depth to a position of need and increase the level of competition, which is all you could hope for. The rest is ****ing in the wind.

These goofy faqcits love shytting on Elder. It's become the cool guy thing to trash Corn now.

I'd like us to get Smith, but that doesn't mean we need to overhype his actual ability or **** on Corn. **** on the guys who shouldn't be here like Mayes and Henley who have made us so desperate for free agent mercenaries like Smith.

These faqcits are so brainwashed by Alabama and Saban propaganda that they would claim Alabama's water boy is better than our best CB.

I mean Corn will be our starting CB. No one really knows how good any of our other CBs will be, so if we can get a transfer who can play immediately, and Only has 1 yr of eligibility remaining (I'm assuming), thats the best case scenario. So hopefully this guy is really good, and chooses to come here for 1 yr.

Not sure if Corn would start for Bama or not.Impossible to say and who really cares. However, there are 2 CB spots(3 sometimes) and Corn will have one,no doubt.Corn can't play both spots at the same time though .The other spot is probably still up for grabs.Taking Bama out of the equation, this kid was very highly rated coming out of high school and our coaches, who get paid to do this for a living, are interested in him for a reason.I'll trust their opinion over a keyboard coach all day long.If he can't immediately help the team then I doubt that they offer him a schollie.

blackvern i dont hate Corn Elder but 2 things....

1.) the coaching staff wasnt impressed with Corn Elder as a #1 corner going into summer...

2.). The previous staff had him in a lot of zone, I dont even recall him making plays up the field like a cb playing man on the outside has to do.

Majority of the times he shined was when he played zone towards the middle of the field and down hill or from the nickel. I personally dont like 5'9 cbs on the outside thats just me but if u can make up for that then so be it.

But u shouldnt get upset if UM fans think a talented 6 foot cb transferring from Alabama could possibly win the job over Elder, we are not talking about Artie Burns.

I'll just say that I love Elder but that doesn't mean the staff does. They might see him as a nickel in this scheme and not a legit field or boundary corner.

If all we can offer MSmith is a chance to be our nickel or dime CB, then why would he come here if that's already his role at BAMA?

So that leads me to believe we told this kid he has a real chance to start over Elder or Redwine. If not, then it would make zero sense for him to come here unless he just wants to spend his last year of college ball playing in the paradise and not some trailer trash/ red neck town.

C'mon man....there was a lot of zone but Corn made a lot of tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage. The previous scared staff even sent him on corner blitzes. He isn't scared to go up and make a tackle.

I recently read an article that made a lot of sense for this kid to pick UMD at this point he needs to create alot of film for the NFL to evaluate him and if he went to Maryland he would be the most talented player on their defense an start at CB from day one. Were as at Miami he would have to fight for the starting spot or nickel CB spot. He doesn't have the time to sit the bench anymore. Yes iron sharpens Iron but after his years at BAMA he will be sharp enough to make be a straight razor type defender for a lot of teams not named BAMA.

Now do I want the kid to pick Miami **** yes, do I think he would be a very good get for Miami heck yeah, do I think he could get great NFL exposure playing at Miami absolutely. It is a tough call an I can now see what is taking the young so long to make a decision. In Miami defense I will say this a good pass rush makes the secondary look that much better and I don't believe UMD has a front 7 that is fair at best. Were as Miami's front 7 is poised to be elite this year.

That's a bunch of propaganda written by a Maryland college student. I put no stock in it.

If Smith wants national attention then he picks Miami over Maryland.

Maryland is like 6-6 team. Miami has a chance at ACC title game and a good bowl game.

Why is everyone talking about him winning the job over elder in the first place though? Last time I checked there are two outside CBs. He'd be winning the job over whoever the **** else we currently have at CB. Because if there's one thing we DO know, its that Elder is currently the best proven cb on the roster.

You do realize that "article" is from UMD's SB Nation site, right?

Of course they're going to argue for him to pick their school

That's not his point brain surgeon. His point was that in Miami he will have to battle to get a starting job. Maryland will have less competition and a better chance of starting so he can impress the NFL. Remember that QB that came her from Brigham Young a few years ago? He rode the bench and could have started at a lesser to school to attract the NFL.

If he can't winning a starting spot at Miami right now with our current cb depth chart than does he rlly have a shot to make it to the NFL? I mean if he can't beat out redwine or lock down the nickel spot which will be on the field plenty than he has no shot at getting into the NFL.

Maryland would be a horrible choice . The wr will have allday to get open completely ignorant choice if that's the way he goes .
