Marty Brown TD that wasn't

So your one example was the refs getting the call right? We held them. They held us. They let players play. Take the emotions out. That is targeting for many crews.
I gave you several examples. Bye podner. Ps
They were bad and are the worst in the nation.

Depth on the DL, C, WRs, and TEs aren’t playoff level.
Which team thus far has shown playoff level players at these same positions? I get it, we stunk it up offensively, but I haven’t seen Bama stacked teams ala 2019 in the Top 25, thanks in large part to NIL.

This isn’t about the future of theses units. Lowe is out for the season so there’s no reason to bring him up.

Like I said if 1-2 starters gets hurt this season, like Blay or Bain that unit will take a significant step back.

Ryan played pretty bad against UF. Also, I never said OL was a concern. I said the C position is not at a playoff level. I’ve looked at other top teams C and they are better than Brockemyer and Rodriguez without question. The OL as a whole is at a playoff level though.

Lowe is out with a small chance of playing in the CFP.

Any team that has a first round talent hurt will see a drop off. What is the point? Think OSU is the same with Smith? Bama without Williams? OU without QB…

My point in OL, if C goes down Mario will adjust including potentially moving another player to C.

All these hypotheticals…. If my aunt had a **** she would be my uncle

For the most part, I agree with this. For an SEC crew, I didn’t see really any favoritism towards Florida. That running call was the only call they really Blue that night and at least they admitted it to Mario.
Admitting it, when it could have had major consequences on the outcome of the game is egregious at best mate.

We have had like 20 runs over the last few seasons where a runners forward progress was “stopped” more than that, and the play continued. That was genuinely one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. Seriously. His forward progress wasn’t ever even remotely stopped.

The really awful part is if the refs watch any film and do any kind of scouting, which they should be doing, they know this is what we do. We rugby scrum and push piles. Like i said we do this every game. Multiple times per game. And our back is stopped much more than Marty was, but we’re still moving so they play rightfully continues.

That was SO bad. So so so so so bad. I’d have loved to have played alternate universe and seen how this game turns out if we go up 20-0 there, as we 10000000000.0% should’ve. That call was so wrong it’s not even real life.
I'm willing to bet that a TD there would have broken UF. They would have gotten desperate and the moment they would have allowed DJ to start throwing the ball, the game would have gotten very ugly, because he is very turnover prone.

The entire UF gameplan(Which was rational knowing what we know) was to keep it as close as possible by limiting the Miami passing game(Making the game a rock fight) and hoping that they were in position to steal it late. The one thing about that strategy is that even if you lose, it will look better on the scoreboard than what actually happened. UF wasn't in this game for most of it, everyone in the stadium knew that as long as Miami didn't give them multiple short fields, there was no way this UF O could score. Miami bludgeoned UF, and while it wasn't as pretty as last year's win, it was still convincing.

so u don’t think there’s teams out there with playoff level talent at the WR, C, Or TE position? I’m not talking about the team as a whole I’m just talking about the position. I’m taking Alabama’s, Tennessee, Texas, OSU, Oregon, and Texas A&M WRs over our room.

Im not trying to be negative, im just pointing out this team still has room to improve and certain positions aren’t at playoff level yet.

again I am only concern about the DL depth this season. The WRs, C, and TEs position are not on a playoff level even if they are fully healthy. Bringing up Smith, Williams, and injuries at the positions I brought up has nothing to do with my point unless we are talking about the DL. This isn’t about what happens if someone got injured at WR, C, or TE. This is about the room rn, fully healthy, and imo they aren’t at a playoff level.

bauman is perhaps the worst college football player i have ever seen. id rather play with 10 guys on the field than to see him trot out there again.
The thing is, we see the whiffed blocks in games before last night, and then last night happened, more missed blocks, and blocking for what I’m guessing he thought was a screen pass that was intended for him that sailed over his head, not paying attention. Florida State he’ll trot out there with the 1st team again.

I guess I’m confused on your point.

Well I worded my first post wrong. I made it sound like I was talking about the depth at all those positions, but it’s only at the DL position that I think depth is a concern to me. The other 3 positions aren’t at a playoff level to me regardless of who gets injured. Thats just my opinion, the 2 teams we have played against with a pulse on defense have shut down our passing game. And I think it’s the play calling combined with overall talent at WR and TE.

Your point about Williams and Smith applies to the DL, because I think that position is elite, playoff level fully healthy. I just wonder how much of a drop off we will see if 1-2 players got injured.

DL depth, pretty sure you mean quality of depth. Ok. Most agree. The young are talented but you want experienced.

WR/TE talent- I think we will be ok. Remember, Beck didn’t have the spring and so his timing should improve every week. TE talent is clearly younger but three of them look like future stars.

Fans want these kids to be elite day one. I’m expecting all of them to improve as they all get more reps (practice and game). Even Tobey will play at another level come December and January.

not trying to be a contrarian, but Okonlola lost his helmet during the play and the ref that blew the whistle was staring at the pile and saw it. i wonder if the blew the whistle because of it. i don't know. i think they ****ed it up anyways and they robbed us of a TD.
