Marty Brown TD that wasn't

Probably the worst call I’ve ever seen in my life. And that’s not hyperbole. Throw out the timing of the whistle bc that’s criminal in itself. Im still trying to figure out why a whistle was even thought about being blown. He was behind a wall of his own lineman. He wasn’t even touched by a defender until he saw daylight and somebody grabbed his hips as he broke out. It was officiated like it was flag football.
i stated in the game day board when it happened.

the refs just had it baked in to blow the whistle when we got the first and did so....i doubt he even looked at the rb or play that whistle was gonna be blown regardless.....dude was touched bya defender maybe 5 yards down the field....im not even sure if they placed the ball where he was touched or just gave us a yard...but beforehand the ref had it in his mind he was blowing that whistle right away

Only two conclusions they are either betting or they felt so sorry for Florida they gave them a sympathy whistle. Either way completely pathetic and the ref should be suspended. It swung the game

I don’t think he was even touched

Josh Pate mentioned "sympathy whistle" as well.

Not buying that...score was 6-13 then...not really 10-run inning rule territory...

Imagine how Auburn feels...

Incorrect. This was the first drive of the 3rd quarter, the score was 13-0, Miami had a 4th and 1 on the UiF 48.

Marty Brown scored a 48 yard touchdown, and Miami went up 20-0, and the game was ******* OVER.

It obviously wasn't a "sympathy whistle", although that's funny. It was pure incompetence by an official who should know better were he to watch ANY film on Miami at any point over the last 2 years.

I'm stiff furious at this call. I wanted to end that silly little no-shutout streak they have.

I get what you are saying but if he was staring at that he should have called hands to the face. Watching the clip above dude straight up had his hand/forearm in Samsons face and knocked him helmet off. Samson did drive his *** in the dirt tho, good to see fight back but that is crazy a DL can force a OL helmet off and it helps the defense per the rules? I think the dude who blew the whistle felt he was somewhere in that scrum, he already got the first down, and play was over but he never actually saw where brown was.

not trying to be a contrarian, but Okonlola lost his helmet during the play and the ref that blew the whistle was staring at the pile and saw it. i wonder if the blew the whistle because of it. i don't know. i think they ****ed it up anyways and they robbed us of a TD.

Counterpoint...then UF should have been given 15 for hands to the face penalty. Referee can clearly see UF players arm across the face. ... In fact, that was missed too

The ref didn't say the play was blown dead because a player's helmet came off.

He said the runner's forward progress was stopped, which is ******* comical.

They’ve been swallowing their whistles a lot for the opposing players throwing punches to our WRs. There was at LEAST one, I think 2, where you see a UFag DB punching a WR in the back of the helmet.
Toney was giving him the business on run plays all night! It was glorious.

And its good to see Toney not retaliate and just bury his *** the next play. Some past receivers would have cost us 15 yarders.
