How different is this from getting fired at a 9-5? At least here they had a vote. In the office they tap you on the shoulder and tell you you are done.

Mark Pope entered the transfer portal on 8/31 (AUGUST!), but withdrew and was at practice after missing a few days.
Re-entered again on December 5th.

Mark Pope was at Jackson State less than a year and was - per Deion and every person wearing a blue - a habitual problem for the team.

My question is (since I didn't watch the show on Amazon Prime)...was this video from August (before the season started), which means a bunch of the weirdos on this forum are *****ing about a guy that was let back on the team less than a week later or was this at the END of the season where Pope entered the portal with a slew of other players leaving Jackson State after Sanders took the Colorado job? Someone that watched the show might want to tell us that information.

Mark Pope played one game this year (9/24 v. MissValleySt) - or at least only recorded one catch in that game, idk what other games he suited up for).

And, he was posting pictures that he graduated from Miami in December of this year (someone posted it here), but I don't recall the exact date.
 
It’s so interesting that so many people hate Deion for being a self-absorbed celebrity. Is that not most college coaches? Half our fanbase was clamoring for Lane Kiffin, who does all the same antics with less football resume.

I’m not some huge Deion fan but the guy is a Hall of Fame player and so far a very winning head coach. We have seen guys like PJ Fleck run around filming the team but it’s a problem when Deion does it?

As much as this clip was embarrassing for Pope, he definitely put himself in that position by doing whatever he did multiple times. Deion must not be that mean of a coach if half the roster is transferring with him to Colorado.

So your saying they wont do it not because they fear getting kicked off the team but because they will be kicked of the team in front of a camera?

To me it shows that Deion is about being on camera. This is anything but a family and if Deion can use you to get some viewers he will. Good or not.

I am actually for public executions btw... skin MFers you know did it 100% alive on TV with their parents in the front row. The catch is you know 100% they did it.

what job do you work at where your boss brings a camera crew into the meeting room and proceeds to take a fake poll among your co workers about whether or not you should be fired? Any boss who’s not an attention seeking Kardashian would call you into his office and say “this isn’t working out, pack your stuff and go” like a real leader.

My wife's family has lived in Colorado for many years and I spend a lot of time there. I always questioned the culture fit. It's as progressive a place in America, Boulder especially, but it'll never be LA, New York or even Miami as far as glitz and glamour goes.

Folks have an incredible amount of restraint for how open minded most are there so it'll be an interesting case study once the high of the hire wears off and he has to win games. And for the amount of pomp and circumstance coming from his camp, he better win big and immediately.

Don’t necessarily disagree with how Deion did it, but don’t video it and blast the kid for everyone to see.

the dismissal is on the same episode as the Southern game that was on October 29th. seems Deion let Pope back on the team and then kicked him off again. probably why Deion said this was Popes second or third chance.

same dudes will praise Mario for bringing accountability to the team then say Pope shouldn’t be held accountable for something he signed up for.

it’s all fake outrage. this has nothing to do with the cameras and more to do with Deion. you don’t see anyone complaining about Hard Knocks.
 
That is so whack. This just proves how bad of a coach this guy is and managing a team. Prime is the toxic one in that "family". Clearly his structure and culture is just for show and it will show. I don't know what these kids see in him besides just joining some cool "revolution" he tries and spin. At the end of the day, this guy will not develop you and put you in the league. It will always be about himself as #1.

This stuff happens a lot, but the fact he has it on camera for show is ridiculous. What a great leader!!! lol

Haha good point. I don’t know. I haven’t watched that episode yet. And won’t call the posters weirdos. They are just fans and only making a fuss about this because it’s Deion and he is being speculated to recruit our top committed player despite the kid still being pro UM. If this was the coach from Tarleton State, no one would care. Funny thing is, I remembered Pope hitting the portal before the season, I didn’t know he returned to JSU. That’s a great point. If it was after the season then Deion and the team was tired. If he was let back on a week later and bunch of people are looking silly for all this virtue signaling for a former player the bashed for 3 years while here.

Yea you’re right. It’s because if Deion. I didn’t know Pope returned. Man you can see the majority of the team was fed up. Especially the “cut the cancer” kid.
