Mark Matthews commits to TAMU in ambiguously ___ manner. Move On

he doesnt even play LT at St Thomas so that goes out the window lol.

I personally dont think the money was the same.

Also think its a visit high and maybe wanting to see something else for college.

I think it's an STA thing as well. They have so many kids at that school who go play sports in college...not just FBS football but what....several hundred kids across their athletic department go play sports in college, and almost all of them leave the area.

Now, most don't have the opportunity to stay home. If you play lacrosse, you don't have much of a choice. But still, for decades that place has just been a carousel of playing sports at STA and then heading off to college in another state. I know Roger personally, and he followed the same blueprint. Again, he didn't have a Miami offer, but he was great at STA and went to BU (and then Villanova), then came home.

I could be totally wrong here, but it just seems like the kids there inherently go elsewhere, for the most part. Even if it's to Gainesville or Tally, I just feel like over the past 20 years, Miami has gotten WAY less of it's share from STA than it "should" have. I'm sure they don't blatantly push kids out of town, but it just seems like that's the blueprint they almost all follow.

My son, 6'5" 310, 2027 IOL, (still growing), 4.4 GPA would do anything to play and be coached at UM. He missed most of his junior year due to injury, so he's playing catch up in the recruiting game. More than likely he'll end up at a DII or FCS school. When he saw the news yesterday he quite simply said, "If you're an OL why would you pick anywhere else?" He then followed that up with, "UM is a beautiful place with everything you could ever want." My son gets it but he's been a Cane fan his entire life. And I will admit it sucks following recruiting when you have a loved one going through it and struggling to get looks.
I would do your very best to get that film in front of miami coaches. PWO is certainly on the table with what you posted above….. miami is expensive as **** so understand if that’s not realistic but certainly worth a shot with those ^ measurables

Mario if you see this gentlemans post do the right thing

Guys there has to be more to the story - College Station flat out stinks. Miami is world class. This isn't on Mario or the Organization - they crushed it. You win some you lose some. Strange if anything - why a South Florida kid would choose that place over the hometown.

Not sure what better job in recruiting means but if all things being equal the money, etc. - they have shown more love to this kid than their own families!

Whatever - move on - we will get another guy. That I am certain of.
I'm convinced these kids have handlers and we're getting neg recruited by these teams. It's like the evidence is right in front of their eyes. They just saw what our OL did the the best teams in the country. We just had a 1st round tackle taken with two more OL also taken. Good education with small classrooms in a safe neighborhood. Great NIL program. I just SMH at these S. FL kids.

It's like the NFL GM's. It's right there on film but because the combine numbers and measurements don't fit what they want they pass.

No more annual talk of #1 recruiting class.

I just think elko took it personal and bent mario over he’ll probably land olo too

It’s not hard
Elko out recruits Mario
Mario may be a better game day coach but Elko is a better recruiter
Well I guess if you can't beat him on the field you just beat him in offseason awards. 🤷‍♂️

The ability of adults (I think?) on this board to have literally ZERO perspective or critical thinking skills genuinely never ceases to amaze me. Been following this **** on the Internet with strangers for 25 years and it’s still fascinating. Every time.
CIS has a special kind of dumb... LOL

So let me make sure I understand...'better recruiter' means what exactly?

Last time I checked the roster that Mario recruited (high school, transfer portal, etc.) finished last season how exactly?

Now...lets do Texas A&M...

Has anyone considered he wants to play LT? Let's be honest, they all want to be LT's. Many top HS T's like SiSi won't be good with not playing LT. Taking a shot in the dark if this isn't about money, it must be about LT. That I can get, but we have seen several RT go Top 10 lately. Either way, their is no down playing this one. Here we are still missing on the top local 5*'s. It's a awful look. Stigma! It was said, over and over last season with Cooper and Russell, we can't miss. This bad look has to end and it's still happening. Their is no spinning this yet, again. No content creator or poster can spin this one. Stuffed in a locker and we are getting pummeled at this time.
This has been brought up in at least 10 posts in this thread so far.
