MaRiO NeEds his OwN GuYs

Don’t get it twisted , the defense is Kirby’s baby. He’s a really good defensive mind. Dabo is the outlier as in never calling plays or being a true X / O guy. Maybe Mario can be an outlier too.
He's a really good "DB" Guy...as is Saban...that's why Georgia didn't give af if Addae went to UM...

Mario won the pac 12 and rose bowl as a HC… I’m losses about how we’ve started but I don’t share the same level of despair. We need to double down and invest in the program in terms of NIL and personnel. But I hear you and agree Mario has co-Oc’d. But I agree his offenses have left a lot to be desired recently. My point is, We can be **** good again. Maybe it’s Richt, maybe it’s Kirby, maybe it’s Dabo…the past isn’t a perfect picture into the future..
his best year was year 2 w a QB he didn't bring in. he should've won more last year but got blown out by Utah twice despite having the most talented roster in the conference. he was a Co-OC by title (usually a way to get a raise). he didnt call a single play though but he doesn't need to be able to do so to win. he just needs to hire the right coordinators and recruit. the key in that is he has to stay the **** away from imposing his viewpoints on an area he has no clue about imo. he just needs to be a CEO and recruiter. let the coordinators call the O and D. like dabo, be the head guy

if I remember correctly, the rumors were that UGA let him walk to UM (kinda like a mutual parting). he was on the outs with Kirby reportedly and this was a way to save face (I believe they were courting T Rob while Addae was still there)

T-Rob is known as an elite recruiter, when he has bags. His coaching, not so much. UGA has Kirby to help handle DBs, like Bama has Saban.

They were...and I'll say it again...Addae isn't irreplaceable....

which would mean we got non recruiter and a poor coach at DB coach? lol
No. How in the world do you extrapolate that from my statement?

It means UGA was willing to let Aadde leave because one, Kirby involves himself in DB coaching (like Saban at Bama), and two, they felt they could poach T-Rob. UGA spends a fortune on recruiting. They will recruit at an elite level regardless of whom the position coaches are.

And like Bama, no coordinator or assistant is bigger than Kirby and the program.

We do not know what Aadde is…elite, good, or bad. We‘re five games with below-average talent in the secondary.

**** LeBeau (NFL HOF DB and long time elite DB coach) couldn‘t turn this unit around.

from what was reported in the spring, he was on his way out of UGA bc he and Kirby had issues.

so far im not impressed w his recruiting at all.

they were also going after T rob while they had a DB coach https://247sports.com/Article/Georg...coach-Travaris-Robinson-per-report-180551865/

We don’t know why Kirby and Aadde had issues, do we?

And the article you linked stated the NFL was interested in Aadde. He must do something right. Perhaps flirting with the NFL caused a riff between he and Kirby.

Reports broke Thursday that Georgia defensive backs coach Jahlil Addae is drawing interest from the NFL, which means the Bulldogs could be on the market to replace him soon.

we know he didnt head anywhere but miami after t rob got hired by Bama.

from their fans, there was some issues between he and smart. maybe It was that muschamp also worked with the DBs (addaee only spent a year at UGA he came from WVU before that I believe).

I absolutely remember all the **** about smart and I still stand by that. hes a trash o scheme type of coach and to me hes an outlier in terms of how he won (absolutely stud built D). we dont recruit well enough to do it smarts way and I dont think well ever get to that level bc we dont have the bags to get that level. he was recruiting a top 3 level since taking over from richt yearly. Mario is gonna bring in a currently 10th ranked class but id say we finish anywhere between 8-12. its a great class but isnt the Elite class. I think the best method to win is Dabos. Dabo like Mario isnt some x and o guy (Smart was an elite play calling DC where as Mario doesn't know what to call when as hes never done it). well win w Mario or at least get to a level where richt left UGA (which is fine and a success). I dont think Mario will ever win it big bc I think **** never improve off what he is now (hes not gonna turn a corner as an HC this far in). I think **** set us up for the next guy. if you think hes winning titles here, lower your expectations.

A couple things that worked in Smart’s favor that’s not working in Mario’s favor:

1. The Brand.
While we, as a fan base, hold The U brand dearly, the same cannot be said nationally. Even though Richt never won the big one, he left UGA in its best position since the 1980’s. Granted, the last 5 yrs didn’t see the success of the first 5 yrs, but he still went an admirable 49-17 (.742) w/ two SECE titles. Mario is inheriting a brand that was once the pinnacle of excellence, that’s now become the pinnacle of mediocrity. He’s taking over a program that’s gone 38-24 (.622) the last 5 yrs w/ it’s lone ACCC title.

2. The Roster
We know Smart can recruit, but so can Mario. However, when Smart took over UGA, it was filled w/ #13, #8, & #6 ranked classes, & Richt laid the ground work for the #8 class for 2016. Smart inherited a roster that produced 16 NFL draft picks, including four 1st rounders, & two 2nd rounders. Mario is inheriting the #8, #17, #11, #11, & #15 ranked classes. Problem is, the #8 & #17 ranked classes were utter disasters, & it’s only small remnants left over. Not sure who on this roster are draft worthy, & certainly not 1st round worth. For sure, it ain’t 16 players as of today.

3. The Culture
Football is king at UGA; football has been a second thought here at Miami. It wasn’t until Herbstreit spoke his mind that the wheels got turning. Furthermore, UGA enjoyed a lot of success under Richt, winning the conference & division on several occasions, along w/ being in discussions for BCS title games, and winning NY6 bowls. Meanwhile in Miami, tumble weeds have tumbled & rumbled through The Hecht for 17 yrs.

What Kirby had to do was take an established program, & add to it, using his pedigree as a prominent DC w/ rangs upon rangs to stake his claim. Here in Miami? Lol; Mario gotta overhaul this whole chit show. Regardless, it took Kirby 2 yrs to mold UGA in his image; I’ll give Mario the same grace period. I’m not sure about #6 under his watch, but vying for #6 will be a healthy start.

Okay. Even more reason for Aadde to want to leave. He already had Kirby in the DB room, and now add Muschamp, former DB, DC, HC and long-time friend of Kirby. Would you want to work under those circumstances?

Let’s give Aadde time to see what he can, or can’t, do.

well see. these DB coaches dont get more a year or two tops on their deals. t rob had a longer one here if I remember correctly.

1. agreed.
2. id say our development was worse than richts developments bc we added kids everyone wanted. example: JW is a kid who would much better at UGA than here bc their coaches are without a doubt better (previous staff and current).
3. richt is a culture king but even richt struggled w culture here. culture is winning. the rest is bull**** imo. see the heat. the heat culture is great when youre winning but doesn't work out so well when youre a middling team w Hassan white side and dion waiters causing **** shows behind the scenes. but all the drama was gone when the heat had success on the court even w those two (remember the resurrection of dion and the 30-11 second half team).

Kirby and the resources he got elevated UGA. they recruited at an elite level not a good level they were at.

I have to give Mario time bc lol there's no other choice. I dont think his image gets us to where Kirby is now bc of everything ive said. I think he gets us to a good team yearly which id be thrilled w. ive said before and continue to say that miami will never ever win a title again. we wont recreate the past success. our time is done w that.

I'm saying especially this guy...not sold on him whatsoever...
Fair enough. I just think like many units on this team, you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken chit.

**** LeBeau or your uncle aren’t turning that group around. JMO.

Sony Michel got $200,000 behind Richts back....Kirby was illegally dropping HEFTY Bags his 2nd yr....learned that from Saban.
Absolutely.

Sony was a canes lock from 8th to 11th grade.

Preach!

I dont think Mario is a great coach. My hope has been he will surround himself with elite coordinators and be in a GM role. He doesn't have to be a great coach to win here. Needs to recruit talent and hire the right people.

Just being honest. If mario is deadset on this style offense we are screwed. If he is like golden was with that defense then he will be here 7 years and be out. Im hoping he learned from saban and adapts.
