MaRiO NeEds his OwN GuYs

Makes no sense. But it is what it is. Georgia kids have a winning mindeset and their state hasnt won sh*t since the 1980s and it was ****** GA Tech that did.

Its up to the coach to DEVELOP....and if he aint playing good...find someone else that does. All that mentality, culture ...is all b.s. and coach speak. This is coming from me a former college football player albeit FCS.

Najee Harris hated the culture at Bama...said his best friends didnt play football...there were cliques..etc. He stayed to get to the league(likely got paid to stay) and gtfo there. Bama and GA arent good because of mentality...they are good because they hoard the best players in the country have 200 staff members and win which ultimately lead to guys being drafted and bandwagoners jumping aboard in recruiting to hope to do the same

. For example a kid from San diego just flipped from UCLA to UGA at RB...UCLA actually looks solid this year...he would of been a focal point there but...its like i'll just ride the UGA train....it works for some but then theres always the Braylen Ingrahamas of the world who just picked the school and it never was a fit schematically for them other than saying i committed to bama and they are then told to medically retire or hit the transfer portal by saban to free up a ship.

Did you just say that the state of Georgia "hasn't won sh*t" since the 1980's? Are we in some kind of time warp? What happened in January?

Mentality and culture isn't "b.s. and coach speak". They are real things. But if you're on the "dey get da best playas" train, take a look at Georgia's roster and current recruiting class. They aren't spending a whole lot of time in south Florida.

Blue chip ratio, top 15 teams in the nation. Separates corches from the coaches. Venebles, Harsin, Cristobal, Fisher. Each are .500 or worse so far this season, despite having a ton of a talent. Venebles did have a mass exodus, losing some talent who went with Riley, but still should be performing better. A&M game was a game who could corch harder, but Texas 8&4 had a superior roster. Auburn is badly corched as well.

Given that Mario is a known recruiter, and that’s why we paid him, we should make our way to the mid 60s or 70s for blue chip ratio. His clock shouldn’t be 6-7 years considering the talent is here. He came into a QB with first round and Heisman hype, defense with some big name guys just bad scheme prior.

This isn’t the rebuild some of you are making it out to be, we have a talented roster. It’s up to coaches to mold the players and make them better, not say all of our guys are busts.
You can have a stacked roster with **** for culture and end up with our current results. 20 years of **** culture won’t be overcome in 5 games. Granted, the jury is still out on Mario being he’s only 5 games in, but other than some game day gaffes, he’s proven he can create a winning culture and stack a roster.

Let's not forget that one of the knocks on Mario was that he was a ridiculously dedicated coach and expected the same of those who worked for him.

There can always be other factors than just they don't believe in him.
Absolutely. Wasn't trying to claim i know all the factors. Im simply stating great coaches aren't lining up to work for mario.

I do have questions about the dedication and losing to mtsu.

Our culture issues have outweighed the blue chip ratio. Our guys don’t work off the field. No extra work. Doubt they study extra film. There’s no culture of hard work and toughness. Also look at lsu getting bullied on both lines. They’re at 66%. Doesn’t matter if you got the ratio if you don’t have balance across all positions

How many top 5 coordinators are making lateral moves? If you’re calling them a top 5 then that means they are already established and secure where they are. Those guys take promotions in position, not sideways jumps

Selling TVD is easy, selling the rest of the pieces that came with TVD? Not so much.

As usual, you like many others have an overinflated image of Miami vs the rest of the college football world.

No TVD doesn’t look better. That’s on Gattis and Ponce and Mario. As someone who wanted neither of the three, I’m not surprised.

I think we are kind of arguing the same thing. I didnt say great coaches are lining up to work for mario. Another poster did.

I hated the steele and gattis hires and was banned for stating my opinions.

Gattis style offense will not succeed at miami. Period.

I am good with Steele. So I’ll be patient with him. I do think Mario wanted the Georgia guy like you said and that would have been exciting.

The offense and Gattis is a whole different story

The steele hire bothers me because mario sold the fanbase on bigtime hires. Steele is not that.

It came across as some of goldens empty promises. Just my opinion.

I pray mario isnt stubborn and gets rid of gattis and goes to a more innovative modern offense.

When was the last time UGA won a MNC before last szn .....I wasnt even alive

The state of Florida has had 4 different colleges win MNC (ucf'S FAKE 1) with predominantly Florida kids....what are we doing here buddy? lol

quick look at their current commits they have 7 from the state of florida. (more than they currently have from their own state)
They got no traction with any of the south florida rbs or beat out with...Fletcher, Young, CJ Baxter

They tried at wr but s.fla elite wrs didnt budge there (just like they didnt for us because of the sh*tty offense scheme) so they went north and central

They have a s.fla corner committed.

Tyically they would only come down here for skill positions. They aint do that hot down here this cycle at the skill spots.

I think there current offense has 2 south florida starters..and their rb that avg 13 yds a carry in the National Championship was from.........South Florida. They likely arent winning a mnc this year and had Bama not lose 2 starting wrs wouldnt have won last year either. It is what it is

You said that the current, reigning national champion hasn't won sh-t since the 1980's. Don't blame me for that comment.

Yes, I knew you would pull up history to be able to talk about "Florida kids". Problem, though, is I didn't say anything about Florida kids. I said something about south Florida kids. The best teams in the country are filling their rosters from small towns all over the south. Miami-Dade and Broward are merely there to fill an occasional need. But no one is relying on south Florida the way you think they are.

90 guys showing up for practice, one starter is from south Florida, but people still think we're going to compete with them with south Florida guys.

Yes, but a shutout? And for the record, I love Lebby, I was just pointing out that there's no real rhyme or reason to this, other than a lot of first-year coaches at high profile schools are struggling. This is not exclusive to Mario, it's not excusive to pro-style vs spread, it's not exclusive to offensive vs defensive coaches, etc. Fact of the matter is a lot of these schools who traditionally recruit well (per the 247 composite) and have first year coaches are going through growing pains.
Well and if that excuse is valid, we are missing our top O-lineman, top running back, and top receiver.......or does that argument only work for teams NOT named Miami?!?!

BEFORE LAST YEAR. GOT**** HOW DENSE ARE YOU.

WHEN DID I EVER SAY ANYONE WAS RELYING ON SOUTH FLORIDA TALENT?. Juts said its completely DUMB to say alienate the best high school football players in the country who are in your recruiting base for the simple fact that you cant coach or develop.

The best teams in the country are located in small towns in the south my man (so that will predominantly be their base)..Tuscaloosa and Athens...with the other being in the same in Ohio...who by the way blew all kinda cash to be in south florida the last 2 years and footed bills for s.fla 7 on 7 teams to be up there every week and groups of s.fla kids to routinely come to their games currently in Ohio State. **** they got 2 s.fla teammates locked in and are currently balls deep already for next class trying to land s.fla elites.

How would a ****** team from Athens Ga load up on SOUTH FLORIDA KIDS in the first place?. They ALWAYS came for their occasional needs....in fact THE ENTIRE COUNTRY is down here for their occasional needs more so than any other region in the ENTIRE COUNTRY....this is not opinion ...its fact. You have never been on a sideline or at a game where there is so much college coaches/scouts at it that they had to stand behind the fg post......and this was for a SPRING GAME I coached in....RECENTLY(within the last 2 years)

I dont even think ppl on this site just advocate for S.Fla guys first i think its an old rhetoric that you guys not from here champion any time we lose because the blame has to be sent somewhere but isnt based in reality. Even the biggest south florida homers on this board currently like a national recruiting approach.

THE FUNNY THING IS .....I HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE PROPONENTS IN SAYING RECRUIT OUT OF STATE...PICK THE RIGHT ONES LOCALLY.
ME AND @Liberty City El HAVE BEEN ON THIS FOREVER EVEN GOING SO FAR AS POSTING ACTUAL KIDS WE SHOULD LOOK AT.

I see you left out all the SOUTH FLORIDA kids i listed from this class they whiffed on (All the rbs, wrs). I just threw out the 7 FLORIDA commits they currently have.

Also no mention that they dont win without James Cook rushing in the MNC and currently have 2 broward kids starting or playing key roles for them at skill positions.

So they are currently one of the two best programs in the country. Currently. Like, today's players. Not dudes recruited in 1997.
If they won in 2021....and didnt win sh8t since 1980 where did all the winning/championship mindset from kids from the state of georgia come from that wasnt their in 40 years?. Yet 4 schools from the state of florida led by a lot of fla/s.fla kid have all won multiple chips in that time period...riddle me that?

Because times have changed. The few elite guys from south Florida are doing well, just like the few elite guys from any metropolitan area. But it's silly to think there are 60 guys from ANY city who are good enough to all come together to build a championship team.

So we agree. What are you so mad about?
That ppl say dumb sh*t like get rid of the south florida players...not recruit south florida..they dont have a winning mindset. All of it is bullsh*t to mask the fact these ppl cant coach or recruit (evaluate talent).

UGA or Bama winning doesnt change anything considering both teams won chips with South Florida kids playing important roles...and OHIO STATE has ALWAYS lived and recruited SOUTH FLORIDA highly and better than both those other schools mainly because they had to. Ohio State is a better program than UGA at least in my opinion since ive been alive and they spend their recruiting budget coming down here quite a good bit.

Brian Hartline was on the first thing smoking down here to stalk Brandon Innis and Hykeem Williams kids with no winning mindset when he is the supposed best wr coach in the land and has his pick across the country...my man was down here watching Hykeem Williams in the lay up line and begging Brandon Innis to come.

Ohio State has two (2) players from south Florida. Out of 100 players and five recruiting classes. They literally have more players from the state of Washington than from south Florida. They are far from "living" in south Florida.

Miami's current starting depth chart has 9 s.fla kids out of 22 possible.

In your opinion the few elite guys from south florida doing well....there are s.fla kids that werent elite are doing well on **** near every team in the power 5 though. lol

This team that DMONEY made for this year would be formidable. And he went with Michael Pratt at qb i woulda went Jordan Travis i guess.
