Mario Cristobal

Kyle Shanahan is an interesting name as well.

“ I studied every potential Xs and Os play and issue possible. I spent my whole life working on that. My goal was that any question a player could have about anything on the field, I'd be able to answer it. ”

— Kyle Shanahan

That is exactly what we need.

As a Redskins fan....... Ehhhhh.

Hue Jackson or Doug Marrone

We should have stolen Hue last year. The secret is out ...

He should be at the front of the line to replace Philbin.

Given what he has done with Andy Dalton, Ross would be an absolute idiot not to bring him down to work with Tanneyhill, IMO.

Doug Marrone is my pick from the NFL candidates. I could see it ...

And he comes from the New Orleans offensive system, which is probably a good fit for Brad Kaaya and Jack Allison ...

Saban hires the best coaching staff in the country.

That is why he wins along with having great players.

Golden might have the worst coaching staff in the country.

If they hire Cristobal I would be done with the program.

Recruiting is like tenth on the list of qualities we need in a HC.

Really curious why you think recruiting is like 10th on our list, maybe you can elaborate?

Saban places it first. I think his blueprint has been pretty successful bringing back a team that lost its way.

We have more D1 teams recruiting in our back yards than any other program in the country.

And the concentration of talent in our area is the only real competitive advantage that we have over every other program in the country year in and year out.
So ****ing what?

Ron Zook was a **** of a recruiter who put lots of emphasis on it too.

Saban is successful because he's the best coach in the nation. Recruiting is a fraction of his responsibilities, maybe not 10th on our list, but it's just a portion. Recruiting good players doesn't mean **** if you can't do anything with them. See Miami for the past 12 years for evidence.

Saban will be the first to tell you he is not the best coach in the nation and he doesn't strive to be. he does strive to be the best recruiter and he says that the main reason he brought Alabama back. if you asked him where it ranks in their comeback he will tell you #1 .

I personally think our problem has been talent evaluation, football hating administration and coaching. Started with elmer. he only recruited off of recruiting sites star counts and gave no precedence to talent evaluation.

if I had coach tell me in an interview that he considered recruiting number 10 on his list of important things I would end the interview there.

So your saying that Mario is one of the best coaches in the country? I don't think so.

I am pretty sure he was hired just for his recruiting of SFL abilities.

Kiffen? ouch....

but thanks for proving my point.

Don't want him anywhere near this program. He can stay and be mediocre in Alabama

How many titles did Butch win?

Did he ever win more than 8 games with that loaded UNC team?

No.

The legend of Butch continues....

Besides Butch I'm having trouble of thinking of realistic proven HC

I wish they would give Butch a second chance but I don't see it happening

It's folks like you that hire the Golden's of the world.

****, you're dumb.

Dude enough with your pointless responses where you call someone else dumb. You have said nothing of value in any thread ever. You add nothing to threads. The only purpose you serve is ****ing people off. Your an embarrassment to the U or a very successful troll.

What kind of loser just bashes everyone and call them dumb and then says nothing smart or intelligent whatsoever?

Seriously dude your ruining every thread with you immature comments.

Just stop already.

He REALLY wants the job. local radio and other people will push for him. Im not feeling it. he was 3-9 when he got fired.

he has experience under both Butch and Saban. Also with Schiano. I know he will recruit well but I'm just not feeling him.

Can anyone make me a legit case for him?

I refuse to even validate the Luigi nonsense any longer but one thing some of you guys might want to consider when throwing any name out there- If you have to mention the freakin' guy's name in conjunction WITH a coordinator that you'd also hope would be on your dream staff then the guy just might not be a good choice.

Do the ***tards on this board realize that the assistant coaches do most of the recruiting?

You think Nick Saban vists these kids once and meets with them on the visit. You think he is up all night chatting on the phone with them?

Golden has to do more of the recruiting himself because he has a pitiful staff comprised of his buddies (Dnofrio and Williams) who are worthless in recruiting and nonanes like Ice Harris and Larry Scott.

Ice Harris can't even land the kids that play for his son at Booker T. How pathetic is that?

PS: Don't give me Mark Walton as an excuse for ICE. Walton would be a Cane if David Duke was the head coach.

I think people should listen to what Saban says before they listen to what anyone on this board says he says. Not sure how you can argue with that.

Basically your making up stuff that he thinks when he says the exact opposite. I mean why make that up?

Why should we take your word before his own words? and then tell me how that makes sense?

Tad, who said that quote in your sig?

The other glaring problem with Cristobal is that he does not have the gravitas to pull big-time coordinators.

Proven OC/DCs are not going to want to coach under a failed FIU coach that's biggest asset is recruiting.

Chud would take the job in a heartbeat.

He did not take a coordinator job last year because he knew the Miami job would be open soon.

Mullen would be fine but he turned us down once. He has no interest and we won't overpay for him.

Sure but we can do better:

Tom Herman
Rob Chudzinski
Darrel Bevell

Dan Mullen?

Chud? Dude ain't coming, Pagano bout to get the pimp hand and he is next in line. Plus dude couldn't recruit for schit. Herman I like though but Houston trying to do it right with facilities and marketing and trying to be another option in TX, he ain't coming. Bevell ehhh not sure he leaves the NFL for CFB but he does a lot with 3rd rate receivers and a beast RB.

He did not take an OC job because no one wanted him

Tad, who said that quote in your sig?

Tad Foote in 1987. Donna was obviously inspired by it.

What do Saban, Myer, Fischer, Miles have in common..... They WIN, it goes much further then cheap talk in recruiting... Now they don't win MNCs every year, but every year they are in the conversation
