I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the first point you've brought up. I believe X had 17 targets against UNC. That stat is crazy. Their relationship has been brought up many times, and there's a biased nature of TVD's to always go to X. This has cost us and continues to do so. We also don't utilize our TEs, at all, which as has been brought up, may be our most talented unit on this team.Hate to be the Debbie Downer but we ain't winning this one either.
-- TVD's bromance with Restrapon will continue, severely limiting what part of the playbook Shannon can call from. It would be unrealistic to believe a week between games is enough to correct that problem. That is who he is--probably his downfall as a career QB in any league. Defenses don't even need to pressure Tyler, they just need to lean on X to completely disrupts the passing. Only chance at getting this offense going is using tight ends, which after six weeks of college football their underutilization has turned this offense into two-dimensions. Tight-Ends make up 3.5% of all receiving attempts, 4.1% of all receiving yards. So much for TE-U. GTFOH with that ****. No help with a tough defense coming into town either.
-- The defense is what they are--good, tired from carrying the offense, some missing players that have been non-factors. Issues that are surmountable.
-- Last, I hate that ****** like all of you but let's be real here, Dabo Sweeney is going to outcorch Cristobal. Nothing more needs to be said about it--the last two weeks have been doing all the talking.
Again, you have no idea what TVD is being asked to do. all of these assumptions about what he ISN'T doing are unreal...There are a lot of facts in your post, but you’re also looking at everything from a macro view and ignoring the micro
I try to look at each game individually and our last two games coaching wasn’t good enough and had a direct impact on our losses
TVD is average in my book… the Texas AM game is an outlier. His reliance on X and inability to work thru progressions will hold us back until he changes his ways
The defensive regression, particularly busts in the secondary, are major concerns
How has Restrepo catching clutch balls hurting the team? How about the ones Colbie Young dropped? How about George running the wrong route and also running into Restrepo on another play?I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the first point you've brought up. And agree on the last point - Dabo has a down team this year by recent Clemson standards. But he's still far better than Mario.
To add onto this, it's one thing if we consistently hold or have PI calls. We commit the absolute dumbest penalties by way of too many men on the filed, unsportmanlike conduct, etc.. Those are the truly maddening penalties. For a caveman HC, you would believe being disciplined would be at the forefeont of what he demands. Instead, we rank 117th out of 130 FBS teams in penalties per game.
I'm not putting this on Restrepo, he's fine. The problem is TVD only focusing on Restrepo. Mistakes happen in football, we've seen X drop passes as well, it happens. If one of the players aren't getting it done, why not put someone else in? Why aren't the TEs being targeted? How has Restrepo catching clutch balls hurting the team? How about the ones Colbie Young dropped? How about George running the wrong route and also running into Restrepo on another play?
People complain about a receiver getting open and playing well.Again, you have no idea what TVD is being asked to do. all of these assumptions about what he ISN'T doing are unreal...
And why the complaints about Restrepo? He catches nearly everything thrown his way - he's reliable and moves the chains.
No one complained when every pass went to Rambo...
As a guy born in 1992, I was just getting into football when the 2001 season happened and is what got me hooked on the Canes. Just enough to suck me in and have proceeded to punish me for it since lol. This program has made being a fan miserable. Especially for a guy born in 1997. All I know
Nothing new here. Been doing it for years and won’t stop any time soon.People complain about a receiver getting open and playing well.
It's a new era in Miami. The era where the fans **** on producing players.
If this team had the mentality of the fanbase on CIS, the program would have been folded already.Nothing new here. Been doing it for years and won’t stop any time soon.
Need a win so bad. Have to win this. Just have to. Please lord.

Come on ... you know he isn't complaining about Restrepo .... he is commenting on the fact that TVD isn't even looking AT other receivers 99% of the time. There are other players ... RB's, TE's and WR's ... that have been open ... guys that are perhaps faster and by mixing it up, spreading the ball around, UM might put up more points. Nobody ... nobody is bashing Restrepo but rather TVD's inability to go through progressions and get more guys involved in the offensive production.People complain about a receiver getting open and playing well.

0 ACC wins at home. Pathetic!

Wes Welker once got 170+ targets in back-to-back seasons, not a single Patriot fan was complaining, I'll tell ya.C

Nah man he’s locking onto X 99% of the time it’s why he as 1,200 yards passing and 12 TDs to guys not named RestrepoWes Welker once got 170+ targets in back-to-back seasons, not a single Patriot fan was complaining, I'll tell ya.
We can include the TE more and we should, believe me. But the offense is performing well. There's more glaring issues on this team that should be addressed.
