Mario called out the team

I look at these reactions in here and they are everywhere across the board. In my opinion its guys like Miami Flo and a few others that tells us how we shouldn't criticize players, when clearly they are the problem.
Throw it all on the players and Mario has a scapegoat that will allow him to justify not changing his offensive philosophy at all for the next 3+ years. Stop it.

The reporter literally stated that Mario’s comment coming out of the locker room at halftime was that they need to establish the run. His words. And going into half, down double digits, the dude burned up the clock with that take your time run game.

Gattis May be awful but he’s doing what Mario hired him to do so Mario is awful too. And the players - yeah they aren’t playing well either.

We can only hope the HC has an epiphany.
I may be wrong exactly on these details, but I understood the way they handled that 2 minute drive. I think that was Jake's first drive, they were going to get the ball at halftime so you take the 2 for 1 with a FG to end the half and not give duke a chance to get the ball back. It would have helped with momentum going into the locker room after the turnover issues. But then Jake threw a pick with 14 seconds left and now it's a moot point lol.. all while trying to ease Jake into the game there.

You could be right. But I’ve seen poor clock management with play calling before this in other games so I’m not inclined to think he’d do any differently if TVD was in there.

There's plenty of blame to go around.
I blame the fans and especially myself for getting our hopes up. Complete rookie move. We should've acted like we been there before...and by there I mean here mired in 15+ years of mediocrity and disappointment.

How can we blame the coaches or players when we're all obviously of unsound feeble minds? Our mental deficiencies probably have infected THEM! Shame on us. They deserve better.

These

Most of these same players went 7-5 last year and actually closed out the season winning 5 of 6 we also brought in 11 transfers many of them being all conference at their previous schools. This years team has actually become worse than last year, yet we are overrating our players?
Yep, you read that correct

Mario is starting to give off used car salesman vibes to me. Want to be tough ok be tough, start with the adults. Someone needs to be fired asap.

I've said it b4 our players are overrated af but it's the coaching that **** the bed.
When the 2 star across the line from you pushes your **** in it's on you period most of these players have zero pride and don't give a Fvvk.

Hah. I mean, we're the innocent bystandard's here. We have a right to be upset at this **** show. My comment was more along the lines of the folks that either blame the players or the staff. It's not one or the other. It's both. There is going to be more pain for us for the foreseeable future. This isn't one simple remedy.

TrumpyCane wants to know at what point do you stop blaming players and blame the coaching staff making millions of dollars?

At what point does Mario look himself in the mirror and see the kind of offense he wants to run just isn’t going to cut it

When’s he going to look at his S&C staff and see this is the 2nd year in a row his team gutted with injuries?
At what point can it be understood that multiple things can be true and it’s not so black and white? At what point can we also remember that some of these players are getting paid to perform and should be treated as such? There are some valid questions about Mario and some legit issues with some of these coordinators, but I see no argument that would justify absolving coaches or players.

All coaches, good, bad, everyone in between will blame players at times.

Nick Saban (who does this A LOT, btw)

Brian Kelly after a loss to (funny enough) Duke (also does this a lot)

Dabo Swinney

Jim Harbaugh

I could do this all day...it happens.

Also, if anyone actually watched the press conference...sure...Mario said what he said, but also blamed himself and the coaching staff as well and said "we all have to go back to work."
👍🏾 I’m speaking on bad coaches, which Cristobal and staff are falling under right now.

You never coached in your life! You always need to be honest. Accountability is key. 8 turnovers is not on coaching. If you don't know how to carry a ball at 17yrs old, then you have a problem. You can practice fundamentals all you want, and you still will fumble. You guys think this whole mess will be fixed in a few months? It has not even been a year, and you think it would be different? Lol. Please if your answer is yes, then you are part of the problem and should hit the portal with the rest of these weak minded kids. This team is a reflection of today's society. A bunch of kids wanting everything given to them. This team has 0 dawgs. You know why? Because there is no depth; someone just as good who can take their job. Whose fault is that? Mario's? Come one man! You guys will be running coaches every year from town because you expect changes in months not years. If this dude can't make us relevant again, you need to shut this program down. It has been 20 plus years of mediocrity, and you want it to change in 10 months.
Did I not say it’s more good than bad ppl, coaches included? Didn’t read past the first line but coaches loss to Middle Tennessee State just like Manny lost to FIU. Nobody is trying to listen to the same lame excuses every new coaching tenure. 10 months is enough time to beat MTSU my guy. **** we just got beat by a coach that had the same amount of time as Mario to turn around an even worse program.

You love excuse making and blaming it all on players ? Nice.
It amazing how the blame gets tossed around every week.

If you own a business, and you hire employees, don’t teach them right or don’t put them at positions they excel at, and your business suffers, whose to blame?

If you’re a teacher, and you fail to teach the kids what they need to know for their test and they fail, whose to blame?

They had a whole spring and a summer to coach these kids up and weed out the ones that don’t want to work or conform to what they want to do. We got ex head coaches and hall of famers on this staff and still can’t tackle. It’s amateur hour. Regressing every week is inexcusable. Only one team we played this year has better or comparable talent to us. We’ve been out coached every week. Put the blame where it belongs.
