Your first mistake, being on Reddit.Cristobal is getting dragged for this statement over on reddit/r/CFB - which just reminds me that reddit is a cesspool of idiots.

His value was determined by the market. Our opinions are irrelevant. People with power, experience, knowledge all say he is worth it. Who am I to disagree? So he’s worth the money just because someone is willing to pay it? we have overpaid a lot of coaches at Miami, but you want to give props to Mario for getting 80 million from his Miami connections and sitting at 5-5? And Oregon offered him 85 million over 10 years
So he’s worth the money just because someone is willing to pay it?
This is fine when Saban says it. He’s earned the right.
When Mario says it, it comes across as obdurate.
Game. Set. MatchAsinine take.
Miami just came out of an era where Manny Diaz was letting kids out of practice with bogus injuries and was starting kids who missed curfew—this attitude is a breath of fresh air in a world of coddled kids meddling, defensive parents.
You're looking for reasons to take shots at Mario if you think this comes out as anything other than authentic.
Some of y'all act like this guy didn't grow up in Miami, didn't spend five years with the Canes in the program's hey day, didn't build FIU from scratch, didn't do two stints at UM as a coach / grad assistant, didn't coach under Davis, Schiano AND Saban and didn't go 35-12 over four seasons in Oregon, where he won the Pac-12 twice, had two 10+ win seasons, won a Rose Bowl and recruited like a beast.
Cristobal has more on his resume than just a 5-5 start with Diaz's clown show program. Give it a rest, already.

So by that logic, jimbo is worth a fully guaranteed 10 year 95 million contract because a couple powerful people said he was…and it implies that every contract is fully justified because powerful people say that coach is worth it, which is idiotic. We should keep gattis on staff then since he’s worth every penny of his market value that we are paying him. But no one is arguing about marios market value, it’s about whether on field results correlate with his pay to justify his salary. That’s what I’m saying and what I think NYSOM is saying…His value was determined by the market. Our opinions are irrelevant. People with power, experience, knowledge all say he is worth it. you try so hard to **** on every coach we ever have so you can pretend that you were some all-knowing football fan a few years laterThat’s a really fancy way of saying he’s a .500 coach over almost 140 career games.

I'm not the president of the Mario fan club, I preferred kiffin. But it is alittle unfair to hold FIU against Mario. That program might be the worse program in the FBS.That’s a really fancy way of saying he’s a .500 coach over almost 140 career games.

Neither does he.I think I agree by I don’t know what “obdurate” means

i dont think that's the only thing he wants to do to mario.Shut the fvck up, you gaping ******.
---Howard Schnellenberger was 158-151-3 as a college football head coach, for a .511 winning percentage.
---Butch Davis was 87-75 as a college football head coach, for a .537 winning percentage.
---Dennis Erickson was 179-96-1 as a college football head coach, for a .651 winning percentage.
Yet they all performed WELL above-career-average at Miami.
But you are just DESPERATE to hang that .365 record at FIU around Mario's neck.
Pick the cane field and time I'll be there

I’m saying Jimbo will gladly be scooped up by another program. Just bc he didn’t win big in college station doesn’t make him trash. His next stop should tell us more. Same with Gattis. I think he’ll probably be a better HC than OC. they could always do that though. Scholarships are year to year close or after the last game you have an exit interview with your coach. Usually then its told whats the plan for spring or to kick rocksAnother good thing about the portal is coaches can now tell players to kick rocks and hit the portal if they are becoming a locker room Cancer
Get the weak minded guys outI had no idea Keyshawn left the team. That’s crazy man. I k ow he wasn’t happy but dot quit on your boys with a few games left.
