Marcus Lewis

Why is everyone so worried about getting corners? With this ridiculous scheme we have the front seven running our opponents only throw the ball ten times a game.

There is no ****ing way in **** lewis grades situation is worse than gray was.

Gray wanted to be a 'Cane more than anything. Lewis has a pretty good option with UK, team mate committed there, will see the field early and stoops has a good history with DB's

Don't give a **** about Lewis if they close on some other guys. What a ******* disaster these guys have been the last two cycles with corners. Slow play a guy like Fenton to chase after an OOS kid to end up missing.

Yall forgetting about jackson kerr, that kid can ball, but missing lewis is hard, lets see if something changes as pete says, because it looking like davante davis aint coming here

I still can't get over how incompetent this staph is. Even most people on this board have enough sense to offer players like Fenton and Redwine early in the process. smfh

And to illustrate even further just how bad this CB situation has become...

We have 5 scholarship CBs on the roster right now. 2 are set to graduate after the season (Howard and Crawford). Another (Burns) may just want to get the **** out of here if we have another season like last year.

The only CB commits we've landed in the last 2 years are a pair of low-rated Golden/D'Onofrio/Williams camp finds. It's mind-blowing how any of those three are still employed here. This CB situation is a failure on a massive f***ing level and a fireable offense in and of itself, putting the nightmarish on-field product aside.

I mentioned in another thread that literally we will have to throw red jerseys on our CBs and our LBs. We have scary depth at those positions. I don't know what Golden is thinking but his stubbornness to only recruit kids HE thinks are UM material is killing us. I remember him saying on a radio interview two years ago that, "Its not fair to the kid or to UM to recruit him if he isn't UM quality"....But then he goes out and gets guys like Larry Hope and Joe Brown who most of us KNEW weren't UM material.

HE says that he doesn't like corners shorter then 5'10 but he **** sure signed Vernon Davis out of Coral Reef who was 5'9. Davis eventually was released from his scholie but still. I just don't get him.

HE says he doesn't like LBers that are less then 200lbs when they enter or as he said, "Its not okay to be a 195lb LB as an incoming freshmen at UM anymore" but he signed Jermaine Grace who was probably 190lb when he came to Greentree.

This is beyond frustrating. In a year like this at CB, we strike out and have to pray that Ice Jr can somehow deliver us Davante Davis and that Rashad Fenton commits even though he didn't even take an official visit here.. In a year where there are legit LBs in the area that are great athletes..we have to pray that Mohammad Berry isn't playing us for fools and commits to us.

Smh...

Why is cb a position of need? Who do we have targeted for next year? Honest questions.

With this quote from our spectacular f***face of a head coach earlier this month:

Al Golden said:
“We have five cornerbacks on scholarship. Other schools have 10."

And you have your answer. Golden admits we're paper thin at corner. And the only CBs we're adding in a two-year span are a pair of low-rated Golden/D'Onofrio/Williams camp finds, which shouldn't inspire confidence from anyone. It's not only a failure to land top targets, but also lacking the wherewithal to offer any of a host of talented in-state alternatives (Fenton, Arnette, Dinson, Hoggins, Redwine, Causey, etc.) as fallback options.

As for targets next year, Trayvon Mullen and Saivion Smith will be the next elite CBs to tell this staph to f*** off.
