Manny on WQAM this morning

We have to do something about RT because Campbell was terrible. As much as he got abused in pass protection, his run blocking may have been worse. And his false start penalties really cost us.

Yes, as if having a FR QB, FR tackles, & a new OC wasn’t bad enough I felt like it was 1st & 15 or 2nd & 13 all night. Hats off to our D once again for keeping us in that game. They were yet again amazing.

Sooo, there's a poster on Rivals who is connected to Jakai Clark's high school coach. He just posted that word is Clark is starting at RG this week. Maybe that means Scaife is sliding over to RT? Looks like some pictures above to support this.

Wow Clarke over Reed as the first man off the bench? I would rather have Scaife at RG but we literally have no other option. Searles is such a cuck.

Manny needs to focus on his own team. There were way to many penalties in game 1 not to mention players not being disciplined.
You know what that’s pretty good advice but instillation just started yesterday and the UNC game is a late start so he’s got time

Another TF on the OL... Is that a good idea?

What other options do we have? Clearly Hillary, Herbert, Dykstra(is he even on the team), Kennedy all suck majorly. Reed I would prefer but maybe he is better at LG. Not sure how hard it is for guards to flip flop but yeah. O-line is trash. We all knew this before the season started.

It is a no brainer to pull Campbell. He's not ready. Hopefully that became painfully obvious after the coaches rewatched the UF film. Scaife to RT makes the most sense because while Nelson had some atrocious snaps, athletically he's the more capable of the two freshmen.

I just can't believe Clarke is their best option to replace Scaife at RG. I mean, wtf. Herbert, Hillery, Campbell, Reed, Kennedy, Dykstra. And we have to go with Clarke? What's the deal with Traore? I thought he was plug & play? Another Kennedy situation?

Manny is on with David Glenn up here in an hour or so. It should be more relevant to this weeks game. I’ll try to find the link when it’s up

Just listened to it sitting outside Publix...not much better on the David Glenn show. Talked about TNM a bit.

I’ve said it before, but if Scaife gets reps at RT keep an eye on Jakai Clark. He is very smart and impressive for a young player.
We can’t afford to fck around too long and stick with an overmatched guy out there. Find the weakest link, replace him, and let’s see if we can get improved play. Next man up.

We lost that ND game a few years ago because we stuck with Linda too long. He had no business playing ahead of Gall.

Couldn't stand the interview and I like Joe but Howell may end up being the best qb we play in the regular season so that needs to be our focus

Clark has been lights-out since he got here. The big advantage he has over Reed and Traore is that he played big-time football in high school and came in very advanced.

DJH you didn't miss much it was honestly the same stuff we have seen for two weeks from our local media.

They went over Florida game again and asked what they went over to fix mistakes.

Manny talked about how the tackling wasnt that bad once they reviewed the film outside of that long TD. How if you watch week 1 of college football alot of people had similar mistakes as us. How alot of that gets worked out.

He said that Tate will get reps at WR/ they have packages for him.
He said the extra time was helpful.
He said they watched alot of teams this past weekend.
The only thing mentioned about the upcoming game was Joe Rose saying good luck this weekend coach.
Honestly sounded like Manny was a little surprised he didn't get any questions about UNC. He kind of paused for a few seconds.

so 150 snaps for tate this week

Gall actually played pretty good in 2016 but was a train wreck in 2015. Painful to see that ND fans brought up lol.

Can we afford to play ANOTHER Freshman on the Oline?

If he earns playing time that's a damning indictment of the job Searles did developing players.

Meh.

Maybe part of his coaching strategy is to hammer home to his kids how winnable that game was and that if Florida was really the #8 team in the country—and Miami went toe-to-toe with them Week 0, on the heels of 7-6, with a brand new quarterback and offensive staff—then maybe this program isn't as far off as the critics thought.

Again, we'll see by year's end how that strategy plays out—but not gonna over-critique the man's process two weeks into his first season.

Let's see if he has Miami ready for what will be a rowdy sold out game in Chapel Hill. If he does and the Canes take care of business, it helps do away with all the criticism hangover from the Gators loss.

This program been on the come up under coach richt, last year was bound to happen at some point cause we just didnt have enuff offensive talent under the moron regime, and under coach richt, he immediately started upgrading the offensive talent, and bringing in coach diaz was absolutely the right move, which enabled us to get back to playing championship level defense. The last 2 things coach richt had to do and he was working on it was the next best qbb for this program, and building a strong o-line. So no, this program in year 4 or 5 under coach richt would've started hummin which is partly why coach gumbo fischer got up outta Fsu, he knew what was coming. So basically all coach diaz has to do is concentrate on o-line and ensuring steady qb play, and roster management mainly and itll be on real shortly. When coach diaz called that fake fiedgoal attempt, that's all i needed to see outta him to know we straight and he bout that winning. So the gaytor loss just added more fuel to coach diaz fire, he felt jacked up after that lost and is still feeling it, not only did he grow up a Hurricane but now he has his dream job being the headcoach at UM, so that lost gave him the double whammy, now comes the man who fired em, lol, he'll really be sick, might want to reel coach enos in a bit, tell em, we running the ball until it becomes ingrained in tbe o-line that passing is a privilege!

All of the candidates for that fifth spot (Clark, Reed, Traore, Campbell) are young players so there's not really a huge difference. Herbert is playing tackle and they want to keep Zion at LT.
