Manny needs more experince around him--Miami Herald today

Funny how some of us were lamenting the collective inexperience of the staff when Diaz and James actually put the staff together, however, when the Herald finally comes on board its "Breaking News"

He had an eye for talent. He found kids under the radar and got them into the league. He was very organized too. He just couldn’t let the 3-4 go
And he actually won hat shows. McCord, aqm, coley, Tracy Howard. Guys had his hands tied with schollys and yes he messed up not offering quite a few but manny will send emojis and then get played

Spoelstra was nothing more than a video choreographer as well. Difference was basketball is all hes ever known. He didnt just decide mid way through life ah that would be cool to be. Mandy is what he is. Personally I'd say the only thing that kept him out of politics is the lisp. But that's just my guess.

Revisionist history at its finest.

You paint a pretty rosy picture of the tie guy.

He lost a ton of battles on the recruiting front. There are no coaches who haven't. His class rankings average was somewhere around 13 or 14 if you take out his first year of 33. He had high turnover and had large classes until the reductions came into play that helped those class rankings, 24, 27, and 18. When your numbers are reduced, it allows you to focus on select individuals more and that last class of his had the lowest amount, but ranked the highest.

As to who he found, tough call on that one. Coaches find players all the time, but it's isn't always the head guy doing the finding. Those guys you listed, they were largely average Joe's here with Howard as the best of the bunch while here.

Manny does leave some to be desired on the front. The image of the school as a power is the lowest it's been since before we started our run. People don't take that into consideration when saying we should land this guy, the coaches are lazy and suck because they didn't.

Al sucked, just like Randy, and Coker before him. No amount of time will change that, it's all there for people to see.

""At this point, UM believes Lashlee’s offense, a new quarterback, a new kicker and a crackdown on player behavioral issues will fix what ails the program."

What a joke believing that an new offensive coordinator can rectify the weakness and lack of discipline that Diaz has on this team now.
Both Blake James and Manny have never been apart of successfully resurrecting a program, yet they claim to have all the answers. They have never even been apart of a consistent WINNING program, yet they have all the answers.... This will turn out badly, but at least they'll be fired.

He doesnt want any advice because he thinks he’s the smartest person in the room. If not, Zo would be here. He needs to win more than advice at this point.
How is it we always get stuck with the smartest in the room type of coaches? Smh. Manny, Enos, Golden, Donofrio.... We are cursed.

Coker didnt suck. Very creative offensive mind. Was just in FAR over his head because he was forced into a position he never deserved and up till that point never wanted. Had zero clue how to delegate responsibilities or oversee his staff. It showed on all fronts.

Agree with that somewhat. As a head coach, he took a Ferrari and turned it into a Japanese import fleet car. As an OC, he set the record on scoring to that point. **** of a nice guy I knew fairly well as and far better than anything we've had since. Wish him nothing but the best.
