Manny Navarro's interview with TVD

Yall remember last off season where a portion of this board had TVD over King in terms of UM quarterback rankings …. The blasphemy.

I expect improvements this year but QB1 is a 365 selfless job when done right.

They said Caleb Williams wished he was as good as TVD.. :jordan:

If he was a big league player, I can understand the play.

A player of his caliber doesn’t get to pull big **** moves like that when the school is trying to close on transfer portal targets.

So, if I was in his position, I would’ve not done what he did.
So he doesn’t get to keep his options open when mario is taking forever to hire an oc after hiring one that hindered his successful (agree that it wasn’t all on gattis lol) and bring in talent around him? And we missed on portal talent way before him, and didn’t he help get lee? Yall are too emotional and cant see things from an objective standpoint lol

QB is the one position you’re 100% in or 100% out.

He could’ve left as soon as the season was over. He used the worst possible time to leverage Miami into giving him money he’s not worth.

In the end, that’s Mario’s problem for leaving the room so bare.

It has nothing to do with emotion and everything to do with the business aspect of a team. Don’t want to be here? Fine. Get the **** out.

There’s no room for a QB to be half in and half out on any level of football.

I agree but how do u expect someone to be all in when u take forever to hire a **** oc? Literally a year after u took forever to hire an oc and we see how that turned out for everyone.

I think we all gonna have to get adjusted to this new college football, this is a business and everyone should do whats best for them. Just like u said mario should have went for other options, that would have been fair just like it is for tvd to keep his options open.

I respect your opinion but its a clear hatred u have to him lmao, im pretty sure there are players all over that have teams reached out and they gonna leverage that to get whatever they can lol the next level isn’t a for sure thing

Did Van Dyke have a good year...**** no..

But he definitely wasn't done any favors with an atrocious offensive line and fools gold of an OC in Gattis. His wanting to leave might've not been his greatest moment but he got low key ruined last season and there was hella uncertainty on offense. Crazy a lot of people made it about NIL but it was trust...could he trust Mario to bring in the right offensive mind for him to thrive going forward. This is his MONEY year. HE WILL NOT BE BACK HERE NEXT SEASON

We all saw what happened with Kayaa and his loyalty to stay despite being a pro style QB and not the spread QB Richt wanted. TVD has trust in Mario and Dawson.. fine with me...let's ride

I do have a personal dislike for him and his agent.

Its okay if someone can admit that they don't like someone based on what they apparently have done to apparently **** off someone.

However, that rules out any opportunity of you to make any comment in regards to that players ability because every comment is influenced by a personal bias.

Plus, yes, a ****** offensive coordinator with a ****** scheme, ****** calls whose signals get stolen all the time with a beyond-hurt O-Line are valid reasons why a QBs accuracy is off. Happens in the NFL all the time where a QBs accuracy is dropping because the circumstances around him are failing him.

I used to think the same. Then I met a lot of different quarterbacks,
Its funny cause similar things were said about herbert when he was coming out, bottom line is if u play well nobody cares about anything else u do outside of that good or bad. Like if he was talking to bama after a good season everyone would be happy he came back but now we cant wait until he leaves lol even tho we also dont like what’s behind him

He’s a big league player in every coaching circle I’ve been around and most other places except this fan base. Y’all gotta stop letting y’all personal bias creep in cause y’all don’t like his lack of leadership intangibles. I’m not trying to offend you but you have a way of making things entirely personal lol
Tom Brady wanted to leave Michigan too often to count and he is heralded as a hero over there.

Nothing....and I mean nothing about that interview made me feel good about his leadership abilities. If you go back, I've always said his lil "bravado" was forced. Even the coaches said it out of their own mouths that they had to force him. And I get it... That's ok. Not everyone is born a leader.

What's also true is... We NEEED him. I questioned it before but after last yr. Yeah, if he misses games again OH BOY.

Very fair. (Not you) Seems like a trait or set of traits that can be used to move agendas in a given direction… we can revisit that offline throughout the year…

They should't quit. Says more about immaturity than GERDis.

Also however, does speak volumes with GERDis' inability to connect with players and other corches.

Big miss by Big Manny on that hire.

Pair Steele with an offense that could actually sustain drives and score and porsters would be sad he left for Bama.

Offense is now a big part of defense in today's rule sets.
The two things that disturbed me were 1. TVD being the headman on offense and by default a leader of the team took no accountability for the team’s negative attitude. Like he rode right along with it.
2. Regarding the injuries he clearly blames the coaches for returning too early only to cover himself at the last minute by saying I mean it’s the players choice too. -Not a part of him was maybe also trying to rush back to prevent a full on youth movement at QB, a little worried about being the odd man out if Jake Garcia shows us anything?
