thats what it seems like. I roasted Manny and staff last year, but he fired Penos and hired a guy that we all asked for. OL has been terrible for years now and now they actually are okay (everyone’s expectation are out of wack if they expected this to be super fixed in half a year with limited practices). If we start losing to teams we shouldn’t I’ll roast Manny again, but until that happens enjoy the wins, we haven’t had a ton the last 15 years.
Manny will always have a inferior DC because it’s his D, we have a really solid Coaches on O.

LOL. you realize bama gave up 600 yards THIS year and hasn't really been that shut down defense for a few seasons now right? no one in CFB is anymore. LSU won a title giving up 500 plus yards multiple times last year. your best hope on D is to prevent big plays and play the game from the 20 to the 20 and stiffen up. then you get your O to score 7s

mario did that with an NFL STARTING QB. we get one of those (like it or not, our last one was in the early 90s), we cover up a ton of flaws and holes on this team. also, its not even remotely questionable that herbert looks WAY better now than he ever did at Oregon. even their fans hated their OC up there and that was marios choice (hes gone and they hired Moorhead this year).

jesus christ this. its like fans dont watch anything else. no one is going out 85 bears style anymore. give it up. people need to evolve in how they evaluate a defense. the offenses in any game will get yards on anyone. you essentially stiffen up when they get into the plus side fo the field and your O has to go score for score

Or...we can continue to change coaches every four years. Like Texas. They have been in the abyss for 10 years and counting, and they are spending every possible resource to become elite again.

There are a variety of factors that have come into play in Miami being unable to return to an elite state. I think poor hiring and spending - the second dictating the first - were the primary factors from 2007 - 2015. The last five years have the underlying issue of having allowed the SEC to build up such a recruiting lead in South Florida in regards to their having established a tradition of getting the elite kids versus our mediocrity that we are now really struggling to chip away at that. The 2021 class is the first signs of light.

At Texas, it has been culture and coaching (Strong and staff) and culture (Herman). But they have spent gobs of money to try to get it fixed, and nothing has really worked so far.

Sometimes no matter what, once a program falls off of that elite position it can be really hard to get back no matter how much you spend.

You know the single worst thing about this Covid season? That since we didn't have divisions thanks to ND, Diaz was robbed of the opportunity to roll into the acc championship game as undefeated ACC coastal Champs and earn the right to tell you and everyone who says "he hasn't won anything" to suck it, and suck it hard.

The famous what if game. Winning the Coarstal is like being the tallest midget.... Its actually going to work out better for miami cause losing in the ACC title game might put us in a lower tier Bowl game.
