Major Applewhite not expected to get OC Job

It's not like Applewhite is going to get a HC or P5 OC job anywhere else.

Barring the fact of something coming up during his background check, we could still get him if we strike out on all our other preferred targets.

Don’t kid yourself you take the guy in Jeff Scott who has played an integral part in Clemson ascension to a top 2 program in the country with elite recruiting and development ability over Brian white Toledo oc signt unseen... and It isn’t close

The programs committing elite resources would just hire both.

He’s been at Clemson since the ascension of their program he’s coached and recruited
All of the Clemson great receivers and is involved and gameplanning the offense. He knows what he’s doing and more importantly knows the ins and out of Clemson’s offense
I live 15 mins away from Clemson. Let me tell you, Clemson fans LOVE him for his recruiting prowess

This is an interesting development. Applewhite was seen as the pick a few days ago, interesting that all that momentum just completely fizzled. Makes me believe that either 1) A better candidate has emerged or 2) Something came up in Applewhite's past or recent tenure at Houston that is preventing Miami from extending the offer.

Or, maybe Applewhite turned down the job?

Sounds like Coley at F$U under Jimbo. How’d that turnout for us?

There’s plenty of quality guys interested , manny is treating this hire like he should. This hire will make or break his *** more than likely . It would make no sense to make it in a few days.

People are going stir crazy here because there’s actually somebody running this **** like a boss. And not having everything leak out.

This alone gives me more confidence in Manny.

Doing a thourough search and considering all the best candidates just like a competent person with hiring responsibilities would!

Wasn’t dude just going along with the rumors that Applewhite was the most likely ? None of the writers know sht lol . And yal just keep believing every rumor lol . Even got Lingard playin games with yal 😂

Here’s the thing...

We are all hoping that Manny is playing chess, not checkers. But nobody knows 💩. Manny just might be a bridesmaid right now.

Y’all mofos are such hypocrites. Lol! So you killed Applewhite for allegedly not calling plays when he was at UH..which was a lie..but now we know for a fact Scott didn’t call plays and it’s all good? Lol!
Makes no sense bruh.....

That’s like comparing Ohio state legendary coach Larry Johnson to **** Jon richt and I’m not exaggerating, chill out.

Jeff Scott Has developed and many more:
Sammy Watkins
Deandre hopkins
Mike Williams
Martavious Bryant
Tee Higgins
Justyn Ross
Adam humphries
Hunter renfrow
Deion Cain

Scott is the best receiver coach developer and recruiter in the country

Herman didn’t have great stats before Ohio State. But he had plenty of play-calling experience from Rice and Iowa State. But this board would explode with anger if we hired someone with his resume.

Applewhite’s resume is better, and people hate him as an option.

Riley was a G5 coordinator. He was the hottest name in the country when Stoops hired him. And he came with plenty of play-calling experience.

Hiring a guy with nine is a risky proposition. And the guys you use to support that concept don’t fit that description.
My point is that maybe we are making too much as to who is actually calling the plays. No OC or DC calls the plays by themselves. They are all coordinating together, talking, providing input, and then the OC or DC makes the final call. I mean the assistants say hey there in xyz set, this play should work. The OC says yeah or ney give me a play that does so and so. It's not a one man band and Manny knows that. The guys at the bottom are the ones breaking down the film putting together the scheme for a given opponent in a given week. I don't think it's a big leap especially for someone that's been at an elite program for an extended period of time. It's a risk, but I trust Manny. If he thinks Scott has a higher ceiling then so be it.
