MAC cancels Fall Football

Idk how Some of the those Programs recover from it tbh

Wait it out, who knows. Most MAC schools aren't even breaking even and are kept afloat by regular students who pay in with part of their tuition. It was a few years ago I read an article how this is becoming commonplace and Ball State was a school mentioned.

The answer is because they spent the money to make it happen.

Again, is there any evidence to show that playing football increases the risk? Or any other sport for that matter?
You’re kidding, right?

You’ve got 4 OL and 4 DL face to face breathing all over each other every play. You’ve got DL’s breathing all over the QB every play. You’ve got DBs and Safeties locking up RBs and WRs every play.

We know that F-2-F contact, even outside, heightens the risk of transmission.

With full face masks and frequent washing, I don't know if the few seconds of contact would be sufficient.

I'm sure there's a way to make it happen.

Coaches and players won’t agree to Spring Football than turn around in 2 months and start another season. It’s only mentioned as an option just to throw **** out there. Not happening

Randy Edsall said so himself during an interview with Dan Patrick. Spring Football idea makes no sense and will never be an option for them

Player a season in the spring won't happen. You can expect players to play two full seasons in a calendar year. At best, there be expanded spring options and perhaps teams play a few spring games.

Again, based on zero evidence.

The only evidence we do have is the NBA and MLB. How hard is it to test right before a game? Can't they take other precautions like full masks and frequent hand and face washing?

This isn't the sweet meteor of death, it's a virus that's on the wane.
Virus on the wane?? How does it wane? The 1918 flu actually killed more people during the second winter wave than the first! This Virus is no where near done killing people! And the more physical encounters we offer, Covid will take advantage! Biology vs human behavior I’d always bet on Biology because Humans are to stupid to follow public health guidance for fear of momentarily missing out on things like a **** football season!

I guess we all just need to shut down life as we know to hide. It’s the only way forward.

Influenza and coronavirus are different. We may very well have a second wave, but hiding under the sheets waiting for it to maybe happen is not a viable strategy.

If the 1889 Russian Flu was really the OC43 coronavirus, it's still floating around causing the common cold right now. That flared up until 1895. Do you plan to cancel everything and put your life on hold for 6 years?
