Not ****ed at all; you, of all people, should know that by now.

There doesn’t have to be evidence, for a private concern, P5/NCAA to decide that the risks are too much - regardless of what schools do; especially, when there are a **** ton of schools that have eschewed the kids in the classroom model - and some have forgone fall sports altogether.

Again, based on zero evidence.

The only evidence we do have is the NBA and MLB. How hard is it to test right before a game? Can't they take other precautions like full masks and frequent hand and face washing?

This isn't the sweet meteor of death, it's a virus that's on the wane.

I don’t know how hard is it to test right before a game? Is the sting right before a game the best time to test? Not after the game? 3 days after? Random testing like the IOC - where they can wake you in the night to test? What do you suggest because this “virus on the wane” will likely be the Cause of death for at least another 50,000 people and be responsible for long term heart, brain and lung issues for countless others? But since it;s not an ELE everyone should ignore?

Rapid testing takes 45 minutes. I'm pretty sure they could test all the players, refs, and staff before a game.

There are a great many diseases and other risks out there. Is there some magic number of potential deaths that warrants coming out of your shell?

Look around. Sports are being played around the world. Instead of cowering in fear, maybe put in a little effort to mitigate the risk.

Sports are being played around the world where countries did the work to mitigate spread. The US is not one of those countries; only the UK might be worse among “developed” nations who have info that can remotely be trusted. Even Germany is looking to scale back as they begin to see upticks; Asian countries are threatening the same thing. So your “cowering in fear“ is way off base (which you knew when you typed it).

Again, is there any evidence to show that playing football increases the risk? Or any other sport for that matter?

A kid who is probably dying to play but may be terrified as to what may happen to him long term. I want to hear from his dad too if he would be so kind. What is he feeling? What are him and his family going through at a time like this? Is his dad the play at all cost parent like most of you jive turkeys seem to be? It is he perhaps cautious, concerned for his son and glad they cancelled.

This is precisely my other problem on this subject. Unless we have some guarantee, or at least some confidence, that the virus will be gone by the spring, what difference does it make.
again, have in-person school and sports, Or have remote learning and cancel sports.
‘But in-person school and no sports makes no sense and the Big 10 students are returning to campus. Makes no difference if the classes are online. If the students are on campus there will be parties and the transmission of Covid.
And sports in spring makes little sense because that guarantees us nothing.
