Lu, D$ what's the word?

The details of each situation might be difference but the overall picture is the same. You can't make excuses for Butch then dismiss the excuses for Golden. They both had NCAA cloud/sanctions to deal with.

It might have been a turn around and rebuild, but by year 4 you shouldn't continue to see issues that were present in year 1. The coaching is problem number 1 whch means there should be a change.

True. But back to my point both Butch and Golden had issues that were present in year 1 still present in year 4. Some stuff has gotten better some are still present. People were calling for Butch's head in year 4 also. Golden needs to make coaching changes as Butch had to do. I think he is going to be here for at least another year if not 2 and all the whining and moaning is not going to change that.

You're full of crap. You don't compare this ****** clown with Butch!

Butch lost 31 scholarships over three years - Golden didn't lose a single one.

Imagine Golden 31 scholarships down - and not by attrition! He wouldn't have won a single game!

Really Golden didn't loose scholarships??? Could have sworn we did. lol
He lost 9 over three years. That aint ****. Our roster has had less than the 85 allowed for quite some time. Its not a crippling sanction.

Nine over 3 years is same as 31 over 3 years?
Where is Gorlden's rings when he was DC at UVA?
Come to think of it, does Gorlden have any Super Bowl rings?
But he studied under paterno and Al Groh though lmfao comparing Gorlden to. Butch.
Why not just compare him to Tom Landry while we are at it?

Stop it with the sholarship reductions caused problems. Golden could never fill out a class and we always played 5 or 6 under the limit because of various reasons. Not once did reductions cause us to turn away a kid.

The scholarship reductions started THIS year. And he can already use Figs, Blue, and Olsen towards that number, I think. So there's just another overblown excuse that morons sucked up when the conman laid it out.

You cant reason with these people all they see is color they ran shannon out of town but want to keep the tie? Look what they did to jacory will kayaa face the same fate because he isnt 100% light it is digusting it is time we as fans make are presence felt against this racist bot

He over signed in two of the previous three recruiting classes which means he didn't lose **** yet. People need to learn how NLI reduction effect signings you don't get do overs when mess up on signing day when you have scholarship reduction. If anyone has seen me post about Butch and the scholarship losses they know I'm the last to bring up what Butch dealt with as far as scholarship losses. However this slap on the wrist Golden has been using as an excuse for his failure is a tea party compared to what Butch dealt with. Worse part is if we do get rid of this loser the next coach is going to have to sign smaller classes because we're on the clock now but he won't have the luxury of having stock piles of young talent waiting in the wings because this ******* has wasted scholarships the previous three years.

It's not just the number of scholarships lost, it's the type. Butch lost his on the front end (limiting the size of incoming freshman classes) while Golden lost his on the back end out of the 85. The latter is a cake walk in comparison.

People need to keep check with reality here.

These are not the same circumstances as the Shannon situation. So expecting the same timetable is going to lead to a lot of heartache.

1. Shannon did not have this kind of buyout and this much left on his contract.
2. Shalala was not stepping down and the University was not without a clear head at that time. This is probably the single Biggest issue right now. She's not going to pull the trigger as she's stepping down, and a new guy is not going to walk in and make his first major decision be firing a football coach. The timing of this almost ensures that this situation continues.
3. The media is still talking about the "cloud" and the NCAA mess. This seems to have bought Golden more time and excuses then Shannon had. It was just last week that Herbstreit and a lot of media talking heads were bashing the "Banner" fans and defending Golden.

As bad as things now stand, the powers that matter don't seem to be focused on the issue at all, and its not likely they are going to act to remedy it this year.

I think people need to expect the worst, and hope for the best. But the reality is that there is probably NO help coming. Not this year. It is what it is.
i keep saying that, but no one wants to listen. shapiro will buy al leeway, whether you think it's warranted or not, it just will ..maybe it just buys him one extra year.. but i think they will give it to him. People keep bringing up the shannon golden race thing, completely ignoring the circumstances of the program when they both arrived.

the "Shapiro thing" that F/A/G used to extort the university? that thing? the "thing" that turned out to be completely meaningless with virtually ZERO actual sanctions? there is only the intangible "cloud" effect on recruiting for a couple of years.

it shouldnt buy him **** other than a ticket back to NJ

that's a very myopic view of "the cloud"... Yes the final result wasn't terrible, but the two+ years of uncertainty, and recruits saying they went elsewhere because the that uncertainty had an effect.

Enlighten us on what recruits said they went elsewhere because of "the cloud."

You're in constant contact with recruits right LRG?

USC had no problem bringing in top 5 classes filled with 5 and 4 star players during their "cloud" from 06-10 while they were under investigation. Also once they were given sanctions, which were real sanctions not this party on the dance floor UM was given Lane sorry *** still brought in arguably the best classes in the country from a quality stand point they just didn't have the quantity to jump schools like Bama/FSU/UF/OSU. The only cloud that has affected UM recruiting is the one Golden see everytime he looks in the mirror. How many more HS coaches do we have to hire to get their players to come to Miami inorder to compensate for our HC being a loser?

Anyone still defending Golden at this point is blind...blinded by his pubes as they "go deeper"

Hit it on the head. We should have had a top 3 class in the country in 2014 with the amount of talent that was down here. It was still a great class but should've been better.

I always thought a coach should have four years to make a sound judgment based on body of work. For Golden, I was willing to make that five because of the issues he's had to deal with. But I've seen enough. Golden is not the answer. We need a wholesale change in terms of coaching and strength staff. Unfortunately, I think Golden has one more year, and I highly doubt he turns it around.
