This. I can't believe the idiots on this board. Freaking name brand shoppers.

The guy has literally EVERYTHING at his disposal at LSU and has managed to underachieve

People seem to also forget that Butch nearly beat him in Death Valley with a team wracked by suspensions.
 
talk about miles all you want but he has won an national championship in the last 15yrs we don't deserve to trash the man and the division (sec west) he coaches in is the toughest his offense you say. well he has won 70 percent of his games. **** he recruits top 10 class not afraid to fire staff members and one **** of a coach now there are more attractive options out there like butch, but if we hired him i wouldn't be upset..
 
Outside of most Big 10 schools, LSU has to be the most boring team to watch. You guys want to bring that here to UM?

Can you honestly not wait to watch LSU games on Saturdays??

Butch put together the best team in the history of the college game. He did it at Miami.

Les Miles has been HC at LSU one of the top 5 programs in the country with every possible resource he could ever want and he has never put together anything close to what Butch Davis did at Miami.

That fact enough for you?

You could use the QB issue on Butch as well. Got lucky with Dorsey when Chris Simms commited to Tennessee.

He would be an awful hire considering this is not the type of coach this program needs at the moment, which is someone that is going to have the motivation and will put in the time and effort to get this program back to the top. I don't see Miles having it considering where he is in this stage of his career. Saban left him a turn key operation at LSU which to his credit ran it successfully early on. But as of late has been on the decline. Also having won an MNC and been in the spotlight I just don't see Miles having that motivation to fight through the trials and tribulations of getting this program back on top. If he would take this job it would be just to collect a paycheck until he his firing 5 years later. He wouldn't be looking to build a sustainable program for the long term which is what this program needs..
Butch and few other candidates would.
