Lsu AD on miles

I imagine his defense at Miami. Man that would be nasty. I'd take him quick.

You mean his Kevin steele defense of this year or John Chavis led defense of years past. I feel like some follow this stuff passively and just attribute this stuff to Miles, Miles specialty has been offense. Chavis was the one who had those nasty LSU defenses. He isnt there anymore and you can see the change already.

I mean I would prefer Chavis, but that's not going to happen. But the way they train and the passion the defense plays, would be a major breath of fresh air.

When teams play well, they look like they are playing with passion. When they are bad teams, they look like they have none. Get a great coach, and the passion follows. People too often put the cart before the horse.

And 9/10 Miles teams play well. His offensive defencies are documented, but if he can consistently win 6-8 games in the SEC west, without a qb. What would he do in the ACC coastal?

Up front, I think Les Miles is a solid coach and much better than most names being thrown around as potential head coaches. However, I think Miami can do better.

My question - for people that think he would be a homerun - is do you not think his results are disappointing relative to the amount of talent that has been at LSU during his tenure? LSU is more talented than every team they play each year, except Alabama, yet LSU has been losing to teams other than Alabama. Is that not a concern? Why would he be more successful at Miami?

Yes, I am aware of his winning percentage, etc... but when you drill down you see losses to inferior teams at a high rate for such a talented team. For example, his 2007 national championship team had two losses (a disgrace for a two loss team to be playing for the title but that is another topic) - to Kentucky and Arkansas.

Many times when I've watched LSU, I see them get out coached which obviously explains why they lose to lesser talented teams. This concerns me; explain to me why my opinion is wrong - not being a smartass, I'm trying to keep an open mind and want to hear all sides in case I've missed something.

Can someone please explain why they would rather have Butch over Miles? I'm high on Butch but cmon....

Don't think he'd win a title here. We'd be good though. But he's never been able to get a decent QB, and that run first run always offense is suspect

Les Miles is Dennis Erickson. Came in to an already built program, and did just enough to keep it rolling for a while. I like Dennis. But I like JJ Howard and Butch better.

Like Butch, he's not an Xs and Os guy, but unlike Butch he has never built a dormant program. Butch was an NFL coordinator, Miles had a brief stint as a TE coach in the NFL. Was entirely mediocre at Okie State. He's not innovative. He's dependent on coordinators. The SEC mystique adds to his credibility with some, and I don't believe in the SEC mystique.

I think we could do way worse, and im in no way a Butch guy. But if I'm being honest if I'm gonna go after a mediocre Xs and Os guy who is living off his past sucesses, I'll hire the guy who at least knows how to build a program from the ground up, and who has developed more probowlers than any other coach.

Imma be honest, some of you are only Canes fans, some are complete trolls, but most are not true college football fans.

To pass on a coach with Les' resume is insane! The guy has won a national title and played for another one in the last 8 years. He recruits some of the best talent. Does he have flaws? Of course, but name one coach who don't?

He coaches in the SEC...and while majority of the SEC is overrated, the top of it is the creme dela creme...and that's who LSU plays consistently on their schedule. He's won 10+ games 7 out of the 11 years in his coaching career at LSU. He's battled tested....now bring that resume here in the ACC w our recruiting grounds and Miami will DOMINATE the landscape of college football.

You folks that post on here really need to start watching all of college football and stop looking at final scores and be like "ewwww, he's lost 3 in a row, no thank u, he's a corch."

If Les is available, u bring him here, ASAP. And I love Butch, love him to death, but if we got a chance at Les....I'm rolling w Les.

No thanks.

No to 110 wins in 10 years at lsu? Lol

Given his recent struggles at LSU, what makes you think he would excel at Miami? Don't give me the coastal answer. The SEC is severely overrated, as the results this week and this entire season have shown.

We have been so irrelevant for so many years that fools dont know a gem staring them in the face. Miles would KILL IT HERE

Only hire besides Butch that would interest me

This is akin to a traumatized victim of domestic violence. You have been abused and beaten for so long that when a true respectable option for a relationship arises you doubt it and only see the negative. Truth is that each and every fuggin coach has some corch in him. If Miles is truly an option....Top two automatically on the list should be Butch and Miles

I'd take Les, I'm just stating the obvious with him. He's conservative to nauseam. He's just been fortunate to have arguably the best state for talent all to himself.

I'm the one guy who doesn't say no everyone . I'd take strong,Herman , Fuente,4Richt, pagano, chud or even Butch. Is there guys I'd like more? Yes. But I think those guys would be a huge upgrade over what we've had the last decade
