People act like "looking at record" is some magical talisman guarding against bad hires, but we've already seen decades of "lather-rinse-repeat" hirings and firings. And you are also discounting how much a good interview (and a good excuse) can offset bad prior results.
Never forget...D'Onofrio got another job with a fawning letter written to Applewhite, and a promise to "wreck things" at Houston if he was hired.
I'm not knocking you personally, but a lot of posters don't have very long memories on the issue of (failed) coaches finding new jobs.
