Longo hired as OC - Wisconsin

If fans displeased with the speed of the hiring process and venting their frustration on a message board impedes the actual hiring process then Mario and the entire staff are incompetent as all F**K!
lol the insiders told you how incompetent a lot fo the staff was as it related to recruiting.

enos had to become a position coach again at the g5 level (cincy) before his former boss/co-worker gave him an OC role.
Correct. He’s having success now at Maryland because he’s running his boss’ offense. The one they had success with at Alabama. If you watch Maryland this year, they look nothing like the Miami, Arkansas or Central Michigan offenses Enos coordinated.

You really think an AD needs to get comments from boosters who have "heard negative comments" about Gattis on a blog? Any AD that is modestly competent is going to look at his record "let's see ... at Miami he couldn't get his offense to score a TD in 4 games". Pretty telling.

Yeah, and we had an INcompetent AD for years. Other schools do as well.

People act like "looking at record" is some magical talisman guarding against bad hires, but we've already seen decades of "lather-rinse-repeat" hirings and firings. And you are also discounting how much a good interview (and a good excuse) can offset bad prior results.

Never forget...D'Onofrio got another job with a fawning letter written to Applewhite, and a promise to "wreck things" at Houston if he was hired.

I'm not knocking you personally, but a lot of posters don't have very long memories on the issue of (failed) coaches finding new jobs.

agreed.

TOC.....come on bruh...fans didn't stop it, frickin POLITICIANS stopped it. That's the only reason Schiano to Tennessee didn't happen. Once those politicians publicly spoke out against it, Schiano to Tenn was never happening.

And the only reason that "politicians" knew ANYTHING was because the fans said something. You HONESTLY believe that politicians KNEW about anything that Schiano had done previously? Not to mention the fact that politicians literally don't care about scandalous behavior UNTIL it becomes a public scandal.

Come on, now.

Fickell is going to make them competitive in 3 years. They’re gonna play tough sound defensive football put points up.
Badger alum here. They're gonna do both of those things next year and probably bring in an above average QB now thanks to Longo/change in offensive philosophy. This was a down year, Wisco is the antithesis of Miami: all culture, no talent lol. I think they might be relevant (Top 12 CFP cusp) right away

Mark D coached HS for a couple of seasons after UM didn't he (on a volunteer basis)? Pretty sure he was "untouchable" as far as getting a D1 job for a couple of years.
