- Hands down the absolute best pure cover corner in the draft. The best press man technician who combines elite footwork, with elite athleticism & high IQ. Lockdown Corner. Has the cleanest tape in the draft. There's 2 years of him playing nearly flawless coverage on film.

Idk where Sears plays. If Heatherman is still here I imagine he’d be utilized like we used Fitzgerald as a frosh. Maybe pass situstions like Thornton comes off Sears comes on. Then you have Dunnigan/Fitz/Sears at both S+Nickel. And I do think Sears gets WR reps too

Do you have a take on him? I'm a Cal alum so I watch most of their games. IIRC all three interceptions were thrown right at him. The week before he gave up a big play. He's definitely intriguing with his ability to move at his size, but I don't know enough about the position to know if he's actually a good defensive back or just big and fast.

Sears doesn't really play CB right now, he out athletes opposing WR's when he plays Defense & does a good job making plays on the ball to get picks, but that's not enough to be able to start day 1 on the College level.

From a technical standpoint, he still has to develop a lot of the other tangible & intangible skills to be considered a full time Corner. His feet aren't there yet, eye discipline & route reading all have to be refined & maturated.

He's very gifted athlete with a lot of competitive juice, but CB is a little more complicated than that.

What is he is an ATH; he's a WR that also plays CB/DB, Donte Wright is a CB that occasionally will play WR.

I think if you transitioned him to FS he could probably start or be in 2-deep as a TF, but at CB, not happening.

he was pretty good for em last year too. Hanks was getting did in by FAU & Campbell and Señor Trimm letting up every reception in sight. I believe he got pulled for a bit vs Campbell as well.
