INT's are mostly happenstance. A guy can rack up picks & still not necessarily be a good Corner in coverage. It's mostly just being in the right place at the right time.

Ball skills are a great thing to have, but the thought that if a CB doesn't have a bunch of INT's that they aren't good is a complete misnomer.

We could play more Press Man, but that requires Press Man corners & as of right now, we only have O'Connor who can consistently play Man. The LAST thing any Miami fan should want is for Damari to being playing a bulk of his coverage snaps in Man.

We need OJ, Ja'Boree & Lucas back for those assignments.

I watched Trevon Diggs a decent bit when i was living in Dallas. He had great INT numbers but was constantly getting cooked in coverage.

You know what it is….I trust the Lville Head Coach to manage that QB and develop him the right way. The player has some tools and I think Brohm will get a lot out of him. Miami will only be afforded one loss this season (ND or ACCCG) so we will need to beat that team.

And since they're experimenting with Fitzgerald at Right Corner, they're rotating between EOC, Fitz, Damari, Portis & Mack.

As far as who leaves, who knows.

The plan coming into the season was for OJ, Lucas, Damari & possibly O'Connor to all declare, but now with the injuries derailing their season, it will likely drop OJ & XL's draft stock, so they may think about returning.

Thats one thing I was wondering with guys returning that would create a logjam at Cb with those top guys returning and we still have slime and seatbelt and Ewald. Then the superstars Wright and Sears coming in and Hall

Brohm is definitely more worrisome. Good playcaller and knows how to maximize his players strengths. But Lville is known to drop a random game or two they shouldn't so I won't pencil them into acc title game. But I do think they would be our toughest test. Need healthy db's for that one.

Think we will be needing to find a new DC next yr….And if OJ misses half season I think he returns/unless he just has a great playoff run. But I personally hope our DB unit next yr is:

RCB: OJ / Wright / Jennings or Hall
LCB: Antoine / O’Connor / Waters /
Nickel: Thornton or Dunnigan / Portis / Ewald
FS: Fitzgerald / Redding / Hyppolite
SS: Dunnigan / Day / Jaylyn Jones

Idk where Sears plays. If Heatherman is still here I imagine he’d be utilized like we used Fitzgerald as a frosh. Maybe pass situstions like Thornton comes off Sears comes on. Then you have Dunnigan/Fitz/Sears at both S+Nickel. And I do think Sears gets WR reps too

Or something like that. I think Poyser/Lucas/Damari will declare

Heatherman signed an extension back in April.

Unless he wants to go to the NFL, or is being offered a HC job, he's likely going to stay for another year.

Yeah I’d take that to mean a pay raise, not something that’s stopping him from leaving for a HC opp. I mean maybe like Dawson he will agree it’s better to stay here until perfect opportunity.
