He’s just as good as Cam Davis if not better. Plenty of room to play 3 RBs. It’s not a position we have been world beaters at. I understand playing the older guy Dallas because he’s had a solid year and leadership qualities. Cam hasn’t shown anything yet this year

The Canes sucking has forced my hand to watch all of CFB. Ppl will soon realize that when I say chit on this board, I’m not just talking chit. After 2013, I became a CFB fan v. solely focusing on Miami. And all I’m left wondering is based upon the excuses this fan base use time and time again to justify incompetence, mediocrity, lack of player development, y don’t I see these perpetual habits elsewhere?
We’ve heard, ‘well the reason y we’re 0-2 to start the season is b/c we have a freshman QB.’
-Johnny Manziel took A&M to new heights as a RS Fr.
-Justin Fields is now 3-0
-The Crab Thief took FSU to new heights as a RS Fr.
-Tua came fresh off the bench down 20 at half to win a Nat’l Championship as a True Fr.
-Trevor Lawrence just methodically picked apart a defense some claimed as a top 10 all time for a National Title as a True Fr.
-Sam Howell just started his career 2-0 against two P5 opponents, including leading a 4th qtr come back against us, to start the season.
-****, USC's 3rd string QB who hadn't thrown a ball since his freshman yr of high school, just popped off the bench and beat a top 10 team!
We’ve heard, ‘well Manny is a 1st yr coach, that’s y we’re struggling.
-Chris Petersen’s first yr he went 13-0
-Fisher went 10-4 first yr
-Eli Drinkwitz has started 3-0 at App St including JUST beating a P5 school, the school we lost to.
-Rod Carey went 12-2 in his 1st yr, is now at Temple, and just beat a P5 team
-Ryan Day is now 7-0 to start his coaching career, and he’s 3-0 this season w a new QB
We’ve heard, ‘well the team is full of divas, that’s y we can’t win.’

All of them have way higher profiled recruits than us, and are winning w no issues

-We’ve out recruited Wisconsin, yet we got smashed twice by them.

I swear I’m not trying to be on my hood down tip, but some of these mofos got excuses to explain excuses. Excuses are tools of the incompetence, and no, I didn’t expect Manny to be some world beater, but he decided to run his mouth to give us the feel he’ll be a world beater. Some things r excusable, but majority of this unexplainable, chit of a show that’s going on, is not.
Now fight me on anything I just laid out.

But imagine if we had app states talent. Then we could beat unc.
Miami fans kill me. Nobody here thinks we are a playoff team but there is no excuse to lose to unc or hang 17 on cmu.
All im asking for is a top 25 team for 4 or 5 years in a row so recruiting takes off. Shouldn't be hard at miami.

I generally agree with all of this. It's unbelievably frustrating to see all these other teams be able to overcome the obstacles that fans/coaches/the administration use as excuses for why we aren't having success. That is especially true on your point on the other schools that are currently ranked that we have outrecruited for many years, yet those teams have much more on the field success recently. That clearly shows that our coaching/evaluation/development is seriously lacking, and we need to find ways to improve in all those areas. The bottom line is, there is simply no excuse why we should be a struggling/middle of the road ACC Coastal team with the talent we've had, especially in the division we are in, other than the poor coaching we've had in the program.
I also understand why that overall frustration with the program, coaches, players, etc., colors every decision, public statement, etc., that our coaches and players make. It's hard not to just be frustrated at everything after watching us the last 18 years.
But, all that being said, in this specific situation, I don't see how the coaches have done anything wrong OTHER than the apparent lack of communication, which I know is itself a big deal. We all want to see Lo play. We've all seen his high school highlights and a bit of what he's done here last year. We all want to see our best guys play so that we have the best chance to be good. But he's been hurt for a year and was finally cleared for the last game. I'm sure it's been frustrating that he's been hurt and he wants to get in there. And ultimately, we probably could have found him some carries.
But, as I said in an earlier post, Deejay and Cam have been very good this year, Deejay especially. Those guys have done nothing to warrant getting pulled. Have they been perfect? No. Are they "elite" Miami RBs? No, probably not. Does Lo have the potential to be that? Seems so. Should we find a way to get him involved during the season? Absolutely. But did the coaches make some huge mistake by not playing him in a much closer than expected game last weekend? I just don't see that.

For those so angry about this, what is your belief on the actual reason why he hasn't seen the field? The coaches are the ones with their livelihoods on the line if we don't win football games. If Lo is 100% healthy and ready, and he gives us a better chance to win if he's on the field (which some of you here clearly believe), then what is your explanation as to why he hasn't played? Not, "because the coaches suck", I mean articulate a reason that holds water why the coaches would have chosen not to bring him on if both of those points above are 100% facts as so many in this thread are making it seem. I'm genuinely curious your take, because it just doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.

Not at all. Its on coaching. No reason for miami to not be a top 25 team every year with our recruiting.

I agree w/ you, and I'm not sure the argument is sitting Deejay or Cam for Lo. UGA, as an example, primarily run w/ Swift and Herrien, but they find a way to get Cook on the field as well. Herrien is gone next year, and Swift is looking like a 3 and out back. You keep Cook happy by getting him some touches, and you also get to see what you have as a Jr RB next year when he becomes the bell cow.
I know I vented a lot of stuff b/c just reading some of these post just got on me 100, but my point is that Lo can easily be incorporated. Plus, let's give the young man some confidence in his knee. Give him something to get dressed for. I'm sure this will happen, but this lack of communication....we've heard this narrative way too often from multiple staffs, now.
