Very happy for Chase Smith. He is thriving in this defense and also looks like he’s gained his twitch back. He’s always been instinctual and a good hitter, but he lost a lot of juice with all the injuries. Tonight he looked like the LB we all hoped to see when he signed here. If he keeps playing like this, it’s going to be hard to keep him on the field.

Smith looked fast sideline to sideline as well. If he could stay healthy and come back next season, he might have an opportunity to really get back into form and level up.

i couldn't believe my eyes when the backers were covering the flats and most plays were going for 3-4 yards rather than 10-12 yards.

were they on cocaine, i asked myself.

Went back and watched the defense. Chase was making plays all over and showing speed and instincts. He made a play at the end of the first half on a fast WR in coverage that would've gone for a big gain if the other LBs were in coverage. Next play stuffs the run and then blows up another play on a run blitz on 3rd down. He should be starting vs UF. Toure is too much of a liability in coverage.

Will be curious to see if they reward Smith in the Fla game. I doubt he starts? But should get alot of burn.

Against a great running qb they had bryrum brown scared to run ngl. Did a great job on the run defense today
I’m sure staff told Brown to play it smart. Knocked him out for the season last year. So he’s got the whole conference schedule ahead of him, I legit never saw him slide until this past weekend.

If we're gonna play the best players he should start. We dont have LBs who can do what he did in that game. He just needs to clean up his tackling.
Wesley is what he is at this point and shouldn't be starting at Miami. Toure has been decent.
PoPo is mid, as an athlete and a run defender.
I'd like to start seeing what Bonner and Wiley can do. We need better athletes and that's what really stood out to me about Smith.
