Lightfoot personal foul video

A defenseless player is allowed to be blocked legally, which happened here. There was no forceable contact to the head area, no launching of any sort, no targeting, zero. No blindslide blocks, nothing.

Defenseless does not mean that you're not allowed to be blocked. That is bull****. He was shoved to the ground and the call was not for a defenseless player.

So then why are you playing so stupid? Lmao.

Against ND or in a playoff game regardless which conferences refs are in charge, does that get called? Yes or no?

Be honest.

Nobody knows how it would be called in any other game. Get out of here lmao. You sound ridiculous.

It’s a clean play and bad call. That’s it. That’s the objective truth.

I’m playing stupid for editing and clarifying a post, which I provided details on earlier that provided more detail than your surface level analysis?

No one said it doesn’t mean they can’t be blocked. But does it mean they can’t be lit up? Does it mean a borderline side block can be called a block in back? lol yall need to get real.

You guys can complain about this block all day long, but it’s getting called every time - especially in moments that matter. Our players just need to learn when a block like this is reasonable vs not.

That’s 100% a penalty.

QB’s are sacred cows in college/NFL.

The guy was like 40yds away from the play.

Given the position he plays and his proximity to the ball carrier. That’s definitely an unnecessary roughness call.
Nonsense. No rule exists that prohibits QBs from being blocked legally after a turnover. None.

He was shoved to the ground, it's a legitimate side block. He didn't even hit him with the shoulder. If that's a foul, we have 60 penalties each game because of illegal blocks of the kicker and we can't touch any special teams player chasing a returner downfield. There's legitimate blocks there every second.

You need to get real. It's another nonsensical take of yours backed up with zero substance.

So against ND or a playoff game on that exact play you are telling Lightfoot to do the exact same thing? lol.

Risk vs reward man. Don’t be dumb

Do you have empirical data and videos for context showing the last 5 years of similar calls to compare outcomes? Or are you just basing your statements on subjectivity?

Or, perhaps, you are Nostradamus reincarnated?
I’ll go with the last point if it makes you be quiet and just accept that QBs get overly protected especially when 20+ yards away from a play.

Show me the rule that prohibits QBs from being legally blocked after a turnover.

Up until you do that, it's a wrong call and a **** one at that. I don't get into hypothetics with ND, players are supposed to play within the rules from whistle to whistle and the refs are supposed to exercise the rulebook, not make **** up whenever they feel like it.

“Supposed to”

Okay believe what you want man

Are you dense? A refs job is literally to exercise the rulebook. What the **** is so hard to get about that?

If he doesn't, he made a **** call. You're saying its the correct call, I've just disproven you after you prounced around pretending that you knew everything and now you're back into subjectivity?

As always, your knowledge is shining out of your ***.

Nothing short of a Maude ban will accomplish this.

Do you want to inject any more subjectivity into the conversation? Rules are rules. Lightfoot played within the rules.

You cannot play based on what you “feel” the refs will call.

Going through the full game now and seeing the end zone camera. I’ll let you guys all decide, because to me there’s no way in **** this is a penalty

Oh man that's bull****. QB is clearly pursuing the play and is fair game. Terrible flag. That said, I'm sure the coaches are telling everyone.. if he's that far away from the play just let it go.

Yes I want Lightfoot to knock Carr on his *** if he’s trying to block Lightfoot out of the play. What are you talking about?

I don't think a QB is allowed to yank another player's ankle after being put to the ground. They're even simultaneously engaging. If Lightfoot doesn't do anything, he gets a shoulder to the chest and then what? Nothing?

Or is that one of the subjective calls that are fine to miss because it's not the refs job to care about that?

Nobody is saying that. People are saying Wilson is already gone for a TD. There's no reason to hit a QB when you know the refs had been garbage up to that point and QBs are being protected way more than they used to. You can disagree with the call but also live in reality.

Go cosplay as the macho guy here but the TD didn't count. So you're wrong. Your advice is bad. And I would tell anybody on that field, if I was Mario, that if a guy is on his way to score a TD why are you doing ANYTHING that could jeopardize that? That's not the time to be a tough guy.

Like I said earlier, if this is Notre Dame instead of CMU and this happens it's a big f***ing problem.

Lightfoot wasn’t looking down the field, he had no idea where Wilson was. You gotta be ******* kidding me.

Uh. I I am saying what you yourself just said was a block from the side, 20+ yards away and against the qb is getting called likely every time. And Lightfoot should learn better judgement to not do that there. Pretty simple. You can believe it isn’t all you want but you wouldn’t be in reality on how it’s officiated.
