Let's go! TVD is benched

need to temper expectations for emory. true freshman against a cfp on the road for the first time at doak.

he can win us the game but don't need people assuming he's going to throw 4 td's and 400 in this true first road environment

These are the same ppl that wanted TVD benched after a win.

What's the scouting report on FSUs lateral speed on D? Are they quick to the sidelines or can they get burnt on wheel routes and runs to the outside?

I just need him to not turn the ball over and take what the D gives him. I suspect the Canes will break some long runs today

That Clemson D is tougher than the FSU one and Emory did what was needed to win.

THIS is how you rally a team, those guys will fought for Emory. This game honeslty just got a lot more interesting…
I was honest to gawd thinkin of skipping first half, but will watch fo sho.

You don’t start a true freshman on the road in a game like this. No clue coaching staff strikes again…….

Got to disagree on this one. You don’t start a QB that’s turning the ball over 4x per game as each turnover lowers your odds of winning by around 20%.

Playing a QB that had 4 turnovers (3 INTs and a fumble), when he’s clearly being asked to be a game manager is an absolute disaster. That means you get less than 200 yds of offense & all those turnovers (which result in almost zero chance of winning).

If we had trotted TVD out there & he threw 4 or 5 INTs, we’d get boatraced in front of 100 stud recruits & a national audience.

Don’t sleep on Emory, he’s mature for his age & composed. He has a better Signature Win in one appearance than TVD had in 3 yrs.

This was a very smart decision because TVD was seeing ghosts out there the last 4 games. How in the world could you start him against our toughest opponent of the season? It could have been an absolute train wreck.

Emory will need to make some throws for us to win but he mostly needs to stay calm & distribute the ball to his playmakers. If the OL shows out, our running game is good & the defense balls out we actually have a chance to win due to this decision. Go Emory & Go Canes!

Breshard has shown he can go the distance out of the backfield. Complementary, I know.[BGCOLOR=initial] [/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]I could see Fletch or Parrish going for 10+, especially if they mix in some 4-wide and run into a light box. Don't need game breaking speed for well blocked 10-20 yard runs. To house it..from 25-30+, yeah.[/BGCOLOR]

What RB on our roster is breaking a run over 10 yards?

FSU gives up 4 yards per carry. Don't need big runs. Got no problem with long sustained drives that keeps their offense from getting into rhythm. I remember how teams used to beat the Ducks with Mariota. Opponents turned games into a slog, and when the Ducks did get the ball, they were ice cold. This is the game that Cristobal has had wet dreams about. He can show Canes fans once and for all that his boring, fisical football can beat high flying finesse teams. And to do it against FSU would silence the critics about the overall direction of the program.

They have issues with running qb’s

This is exactly how it needs to be done today, unfortunately.
