Let's get this straight: Golden is a Mediocre Recruiter

The thing is some of these kids that do leave NEVER want to go to Miami yet you count them as misses.zzzzSome of them want to get out of south Florida for college so with that being said you can't fault Miami or them for that matter...
 
Being at Miami and not being able to sign a great deal of South Florida elite players means you are below mediocre.

Wouldn't go nowhere near calling 16' horse ****! Yes Golden an average recruiter but where I think he fails is at realizing his shortcomings at recruiting and coaching. He's an administrative type coach and needs if nothing else to hire a professional OC and DC. Let them handle preparing the troops and making game day calls. We will never outplay and coach teams with the current OC and DC. He's relying on perception of recruiting and Flake James to save his job. But Golden nor his coordinators are professional caliber coaches.

Golden is an elite recruiter with kids that have FCS offers. Agree with OP that he is average at best going for kids with competitive offers. Most impressive pulls are AQM and Bush as Bama was in the mix for both

How does USC's team look this year? You know, the one that fired their coach halfway through a season and lost 3 times more scholarships than us.

IM NOT SAYING GOLDEN SHOULD BE HERE.I THINK BUTCH SHOULD BE OUR COACH. lol USC was coming off more recent success, hire a more well-known coach, and didnt have a previous coach who was basically hated by everyone in the media and local high schools

The only two questions that need to be asked are:
1. How much talent does Golden need to win at the level fans demand?
2. What are the chances of him being able to acquire it?

At this point it's clear that the only way UM would have even a chance of success under Thick Vermeil is to possess a late 90's to early 00's amount of NFL talent. Unfortunately that collection of talent is a historical outlier and really unlikely to be repeated at UM or anywhere else.

So it doesn't matter how well he recruits because he'll never compile talent at a rate that will overcome his cowardice and idiocy.

Denver Kirkland i have no idea what really happened. i mean not all of these were goldens fault. 2015 class is his fault. considering the circumstances along with the fact he found some decent surprises like gunter, pierre, and armbrister, all of who will play in NFL. i think talent on the roster is far from the issue.

Golden has been pretty much a garbage recruiter. How many guys from his first two recruiting classes are no longer part of the team? The man is flat trash.
