"Let's be NIL U".

Maybe you’re paying full price for black market weed but in California and Colorado those guys have to sell it for pennies because people there aren’t paying full price for a lesser product. You’d pay the same price for a stolen TV as you would from the store?

Also, 50 year old white dudes are the ones actually making money off weed.
I have a dispensary one minute from my work if you missed that also. Everyone that wants a card can get one almost immediately. My best friend uses his for oils etc, but he and his wife buy 0 actual weed from there. You know why? Lol because it's taxed and not any better anyway. There were no price changes. Everyone has the option. Do it legally and pay more, or don't and pay less. Why have generations of Americans played the lottery everyday with their bookie instead of the state? Oh I know. A better deal for the same thing. There's also a casino in our mall now. Guess what. No bookies have gone out of business. There is always an advantage to not doing things taxed/legally.

I get the them not now having an unlimited budget point and mostly agree, but that is exactly the same point then that can be made about Miami essentially. They had no support from the city before, but now these people are suddenly fans and wanting to drop all their ad dollars on a no name (in the grand scheme of the city) college kid? There's 30,000 people at the games lol

You don’t go to games if you think there’s 30,000 there.

It's not a lesser product, and it's cheaper. Like I stated in the first place. The prices aren't even close. Legal weed is taxed, street weed isn't. End of story. I have no idea what comparison you're even trying to make.
You just made my point. The illegal guy has to sell it for cheaper. It’s literally basic supply and demand economics. The stuff you learn the first day of a freshman macroeconomics class. At the absolute minimum there was a percentage of people who used to spend their money on illegal weed who don’t anymore. As more and more dispensaries open and access to legal weed gets easier and easier, more and more people will buy it. I mean this isn’t complicated. There’s a reason bootleggers and moonshiners don’t really exist anymore.

You're right I go to away games because I don't live in Florida. I have however owned this magical thing called a TV and can turn it on. As can the rest of the country that's been mocking Miami attendance for decades. So maybe it's 40, wow.

Bootleggers and moonshiners weren't selling the same product. They were selling **** that could blind you. That's an awful comparison.

Bro Alabama can only get 85 players. You know you’re my guy but you need to get a hold of yourself. Sometimes you get carried away and don’t think things through.
Until Saban persuades Emmert that the 85 scholarship limit is a relic of the past...that the fair thing, that the right thing would be for schools to offer unlimited scholarships. Then anyone who wants an Alabama scholarship can come.

Ergo Saban signs the entire Top 200 each year. Yes, only a handful actually play, but if they are all making millions of dollars a year regardless, does it even matter?

And the guy doesn't have to "sell it for cheaper " because of legal weed dip****. He already did sell it cheaper BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE PROCESS TAXED. Nobody dropped prices, they remained THE SAME. Look man, you clearly, clearly, can't be more out of touch on this situation. You just can't. I'm guessing you haven't smoked since you used to pack your metal bowl with 6 friends before high school. You just honestly can't be anymore wrong on the weed situation than you are

Imported Canadian whiskey was a huge seller during prohibition. You’re also making an assumption that moonshiners didn’t care about the quality of their product and were just mass producing a product that would make people go blind. I’d say the underground liquor market was about as well regulated as the underground weed market is. If you sell garbage, you won’t be in business long. When you buy weed from a dealer, you’re basically just buying what he tells you it is. Maybe he’s being honest maybe he’s just making **** up. Maybe he thinks he’s being honest but the guy who sold it to him was just making sh

You also just compared playing the lottery to a sports book. So let’s talk about awful comparisons. Now let’s talk about sports books. Does the local bookie compete with Vegas? Of course not. It’s not even close. Just like there’s way more people playing games in casinos than there are rolling dice in the alleyway. Most of the population will prefer to do things the legal way even if it means they might get taxed on their winnings.

If the store is selling it for X dollars and he’s selling it for <X dollars, he’s selling it for cheaper. I own a business. If I sell something for the same price that I did 10 years ago but the other stores are all selling it for more, I’m losing out on profit. If I was the only store in town but all of the sudden three other stores open up on my neighborhood, I’m losing profit. I’ve explained the basic economics of it multiple times. But keep thinking the guy selling bags out of his apartment is really making more money now than he did before it was legalized.

Keep thinking I said things like that to make your incorrect point

Uhhhhhh; U’re 2nd paragraph is inherently wrong, Bro. I can tell u that since moving back to L.A, at least once a day, I see two cars w/ either a Bama license plate cover or some sort of Bama paraphernalia. I can tell u while in The Bay, I encountered several Bama fans who were not from the state or alum. Most ppl tend to be bandwagoners, bro. I can tell u how many Laker fans became Bulls fans while in elementary school when MJ kept winning.
Yeah a bit of hyperbole on my part. But how much UM apparel and plates etc do you think you would see if we were winning like they are as compared to what you see from bama now. I mean they’ve been winning for almost a decade now. I still see UM stuff when I travel and even K9cane said when travels it amazes him how many people walk up to him when he wears cane gear.
Hopefully we do win and everyone in here will see what will happen.

Oh bro; if we’re winning we flood neighborhoods too. I can tell u a lot of my friends didn’t even watch CFB like that. After the 2001 Team, I converted 6 of my friends into diehard Canes fans. Now, one did try to waver in like 2018, but I shook him up (literally) and he came to his senses.

I live in a small town in PA and there are multiple Bama license plate covers. There are 3-4 Miami as well, but kids are HUGE bandwagoners are Bama has ruled for over a decade. It was inevitable they would spread just like every other good team has

That’s it, man. We’re loyal to our team, but Imma keep it a buck; in 87 when I became a Cane fan, it was b/c I saw them smack the local ND squad on TV, and then they won the championship that yr. I was 5 yrs old, bro. Now if ND had won, who knows, but when U’re a kid, U’re influenced by winners. No different than why there’s hella Cowboy & 9ers fan in L.A in my age group. Why? B/c Dallas & SF was winning at a high clip during the 80’s (SF) & early 90’s (Cowboys).

It is what it is.

The U being the first to embrace the rules should not hurt.

As we saw with the transfer Portal. Many guys here were saying it would hurt us more than help us and were dead wrong.
I think this can have a similar outcome.

2-3 seasons of the portal is hardly proof that it has helped us for than hurt us. I'd say the jury is quite definitely still out on that.

It'll take 4-5 years at least to see what the true cost/benefit of that is. If we don't capitalize on the portal with some relevant seasons, the roster holes left by relying so heavily on transfers will become painfully obvious. It should also be pointed out that COVID and the resulting additional eligibility that was granted has helped us in that regard considerably. Credit to Manny and staff for keeping so many of these guys for another year.

In the long run, the lifeblood of a healthy program that is able to reload and not rebuild are high school prospects, with occasionally filling in a gap or two with transfers.

Yeah bro I hear you. But only certain cities do that imo. Remember the giants and the bears too. Everybody jumped on board that train. But even greenbay with a charismatic qb didn’t do that.
We win just one and it’s a wrap.

We’re the coolest program, ever. Period. Love MJ & my Bulls, but when we won, it was fun & a enticing. I try to explain to all my little cousins what it means to rep US vs them, and they don’t get it. It hurts my heart bro, b/c I realize we’ve robbed younger kids of who we are. I try to tell them NFL teams have jocked our intro!

Man, we win & it’ll be Bama & Clemson Who. Real talk. I just hate that it’s at this point, but this season will tell us & the nation a lot.

You're saying the jury is out on the portal hurting or helping us? Did I read that right?
