Leach to FSU?

Yall are trying to transform the guy into Urban Meyer, just look at his career, he's not some young up & comer, who he was at TTech is exactly who he is at Wazzu & exactly who he will be at FSU if they hired him.

He's not going to all of the sudden start recruiting elite 5-star DE's & DB's and fielding top 10 Defenses, he's NEVER EVER ONCE IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER done that, NEVER NOT EVER, NOT ONCE... EVER lol. Literally, NEVER.

He's one of the greatest Offensive minds in college Football, but that's where it stops, anybody saying he's going to hire an elite DC, or start recruiting at a high level is simply saying that because they are fans of Leach & want him here instead of FSU, but there's no truth to it whatsoever. He's NEVER DONE IT ONCE. Can't overstate that... Never lol.

El..I think you're right when you say that he's not going to turn into Urban Meyer, but don't you also agree that @ FSU he will have access to a football budget & resources that he's never once had the luxury of his entire career? There is an astronomical difference between TTU, Wazzu, & FSU. I don't think we can pick & choose certain trends from throughout his career and then extrapolate those findings towards projecting how successful he's going to be @ FSU because it's simply not an apples to apples comparison.

true but having a record like that at osu was a major accomplishment.before Boone Pickens that place was a joke.you think our facilities back in the day were bad theirs was worse.high schools had better facilities.

Let’s be clear about something: if Leach came here and we had an AD who could hire a serious DC to complement his shortcomings, they’d be banging pots and pans in Little Havana.

Correction, almost EVERYONE though JJ was a terrible hire at the time. His first season (8-5) didn't do much to dispel that thought, losing a 31-0 lead at halftime against Maryland in the OB.
 
Not sure he can relate to kids/parents/street agents in FL but he'd definitely get their offense right. Also, he'd have to hire a real DC or he'll be Taggart 2.0 real quick.
 
FSU hiring Leach is comparable to A&M hiring Sumlin. Which didn't turn out good. The only difference is that Sumlin recruited at really high level while Leach doesn't recruit. Like @Liberty City El said he never pulled in a good class ever. Even with the success in texas tech, he wasn't able to steal a kid from the big texas schools.
 
Crazy how all of a sudden Leach sucks or ain’t all that when there’s guys on here that have drooled all over themselves wanting to hire him every time our HC position came open.

Kind of like how some kids go from AA to sucking as soon as they pick another school.

I think everybody forgets that he had an elite DC in Alex Grinch and his best year was 9-4 with him there.

correction those who knew jj when he was at osu thought his coaching style didn't match up well at Miami.jj was a conservative coach at osu .jj in 85 lost 5 games due him being conservative what helped jj was he was willing to adapt and change and make the changes needed.

He's recruited out of Lubbock and Pullman. Just wait until he gets into the south and starts pulling speed. I hope they go in a different direction. He's won where nobody else has come close.

Of course he'll have more resources, but he won't use them.

That's what I think yall are missing about Leach, he simply does not care about recruiting at a high level, he doesn't put any effort into & never has. The highest rated prospect he ever landed was Michael Crabtree & the only reason he got Crabtree was because Mack Brown was recruiting him to play Safety at Texas & he wanted to be a WR.

Leach despises the idea of trying to convince & beg kids to come play for him, he's not going to be out on the trail selling his resume & his career to the type of athletes that FSU is used to having, his whole approach is just take whatever players he has & put together a Pass ONLY offense with them. Trust me, the recruiting Wars that go on in FLA for prospects are not cut out for his style as a coach/recruiter, he's not about to be in some 5-star DE's living room battling it out with Clemson, UF, UGA, Bama, Auburn & Miami over a kid trying to convince him to go to FSU lol, that's just not who he is as a coach.

I get why you guys see that because he constantly has the #1 ranked Pass offense that it makes you worried, but that's because all he does is pass the ball (Leach QB's always lead the nation in attempts) & even with having such a prolific passing offense they still lose multiple games every year anytime they play a team with a halfway decent Defense. Again, like I said in my first comment a few pages ago, Leach to FSU is NOT instant championships for them, it's Wazzu except in the ACC & he would lose to us annually every year like he does to UW.
