Latest on QB Torrance Gibson.....

Gibson at WR when the world is gonna offer him at QB??...LOL yall act like we are a top 5 team that can affor to move 5 star QB's to wr..smh

Dude, he's a terrible passer.

Watched him a couple weeks ago. He can barely complete passes against air. No joke.

The kid behind him throws a better ball.

This is what everyone fails to recognize... Sounds like Auburn or GT would be a good fit for his type of game. We got Lawson and Captain Jack. We are set...!!!

I'm content with Kayya running the team for a few years and then handing the baton to my boy Jack Allison.....so ya pass on Gibson

Love how gibsons recruitment is unfolding. Wouldn't mind him being a cane.

We have a QB for this class and 2016. I was never as high on Gibson as a pro system type of QB. He's a spread set guy that will only be a successful QB because of his run threat. Auburn would be the best fit for him if he wants to be coach by the best spread set staff. He's not a read and pick apart the defense type pocket passer. We can see the battles for starting positions get more intense. That's why we'll be vastly improved.

This. There's a reason he's listed at ATH/WR in all of these camps!

Next!!

His mismanagement of his recruitment has moved him even further down my list.

The South Florida diva crap is fine for skill position players and linemen, but QB is a different story.

More is expected of you when you want to be the leader of a team, not to mention the logistical side of preparing to be a QB in a power conference of a Division 1 Football program.

From the outside (and this is just my own perception), it seems that football isn't all that big of a priority to him. He seems to be one of those guys who plays football because he's an athletic freak, as oppose to a guy plays football because he loves it, and just happens to be an athletic freak.

I want guys like Jamal Carter. Guys who would be trying to still play the game if they were 5'8" and 170 pounds.

I especially need that level of commitment and attention to detail in my QB.

I simply don't see that in this kid.

I would love to say "i only want high character guys" but there are dudes like Cam newton, Winston, & Pryor that make me change my mind

Don't care what position he plays, his kid is an absolute take. Elite.

and I distinctly remember the same things being said about Teddy, maybe not to this level regarding WR being his best position, but it was most certainly said.

You take the talent no matter what, figure it out later

I don't think people were saying Bridgewater couldn't throw. The recruiting sites weren't flat out listing him as an athlete either. He wasn't forced/asked to play WR at events like The Opening. He also wasn't getting suspended from spring games. Bridgewater was committed and wasn't having his top schools taking a QB in his place and sometimes another.

Different situations.

No college coach in America is gonna say no to him coming in. They just aren't simply gonna take him as the only QB in their class if they have other viable options. Particularly if they think like plenty of people do that he is a an elite WR prospect.

yeah I compare them not necessarily because they are so similar in situation but Teddy really grew up quickly as a passer. Gibson has amazing skills and he could blow up as well, I guess is my point. Lot of people that would never admit it now, said Teddy would never be a QB but I do agree with you in general.

Disagree with the Teddy reference wholeheartedly.

From everything that I've seen from both of them, Teddy was always a "football guy." Always working at his craft and the unquestioned leader of his team. Teddy's mechanics are probably the only place that Bridgewater and Gibson are similar, but Teddy was on a steady rise even in that department throughout his high school career, which says a lot about the kind of kid he was and where his focus was.

I don't get any of that from Gibson. I get a really big sense of entitlement (which is not unfounded in 17 year olds), but more concerning is the lack of improvement, which speaks to a general disinterest in honing his craft, if not a general disinterest in football overall.

No more guys on our team that play football because they run fast, or are really strong, or can throw ball 90 yards through the air. More guys that play football WELL because of all of those attributes. There's a distinct difference. Guys like Fig, Carter, Duke, Burns, Denzel, AQM, and Tracy are football guys who are excellent at it because of those other attributes.
