Cause he's an ATHLETE playing QB...

Not a real Quarterback.

He ain't making reads or running a well-oiled offense, he's running and gunning.

He also doesn't have the high character you'd want from a QB.

And we run an offense that is nothing like Auburn's.

Yes he might go to Auburn or O$U and light it up in those gimmicky offenses, but he is not a pro style QB and not the high character type kid you want being the face of your program.

You do not change your offense around to fit one recruit, you recruit players that fit your scheme.

I would love to bring him in as a WR, b/c his athletic ability is off the charts, but he has horrible accuracy, touch, pocket presence and QB awareness. If his first option isn't open, he takes off.

Sorry, but that is the last guy I want running our offense.

By your name I assume you also thought that Winky should have been offered to play QB here.

You are 100% wrong about that one too.

I would have loved to bring in Quinton Flowers as an ATH to play either WR or DB, but definitely not QB.

UH HUH. He's actually a better passer than Cam Newton was in HS, and Cam ended up being a #1 overall pick. And Nick Marshall isn't exactly making 3 or 4 progression, full field reads. Let's face it, Auburn runs a souped up Wing-T, the QB in that offense is basically a glorified RB anyway.

yea but it wasn't until he has been at Auburn that he has used a running QB. In HS his offense was about flinging it around the field (Mustain, Lashlee, Dirk.)

True...I guess what I'm getting at, is that Malzahn's offense, is a lil' more forgiving to an Unpolished passer...ie Marshall. But I do agree with tyrn, TG looks Randy Moss-ish at WR in those 7 on 7 clips I've seen. High-pointing the ball, with your BACK TO THE QB, is a 1 in a billion feat...He makes it look ROUTINE!

CM73...He plays some, but I'm just going by the clips that I've seen. Who knows, I know most of those SOS teams are so stacked, that it doesn't matter who plays QB. Or it could be, that the QB they have on that team, is the best QB for THAT TEAM.

5-star QB Torrance Gibson visiting #Canes tonight, per 247's @RyanBartow. Will be a tough pull for UM, but there's at least some interest.
 
And SOSs can be overrated at times.
I've read De La Salle in California doesn't even play SOSs, and they've still won a whole buncha State Titles.
IMO, they're showcase events if anything.

More and more schools are starting to not let their kids play 7on7's now.
 
@rivalsmike: 4 star QB/ATH Torrance Gibson @quick_tg6 will be announcing top 7 in order today. He tells me #Canes, #Buckeyes and #UCF will make the cut.
