Latest on QB Torrance Gibson.....

@rivalsmike: 4 star QB/ATH Torrance Gibson @quick_tg6 will be announcing top 7 in order today. He tells me #Canes, #Buckeyes and #UCF will make the cut.

I'm interested to find out if we moved up from spot 7 to spot 6 .... fingers crossed
The board will erupt in joy if this happens.

How about we erupt with joy for the QB who has committed to UM already!

Tenn will offer Gibson a small kingdom to sign with them. They just got rid of a QB ( Ferguson) on the roster that would have competed with Gibson in 2015, they are practically giving him the starting role in 2015. Here is the video,

Seriously? If you can't see the sarcasm here I don't know what to say anymore.

I missed that one, sorry! My brain shut down after watching that Big SMO video about Tennessee.

LMAO at "high character". What do you call being high or drunk outta ya' mind...running into a tree...and leaving the scene of an accident...again?

a white guy?

Racist

I believe CaneSince4Ever was referring to my post where I questioned the character of QB recruit(IMO an ATH not a QB) who has been suspended from his team for either hitting his coach(1 rumor) or hitting a girl(another rumor).

I do not know exactly what the deal was(a lot who are "close to the situation" say they can't believe he wasn't expelled, so it must have been something really bad), but to call me racist, when the QB I would like to see win the battle is Brad Kaaya(a black QB over Olsen who didn't impress me very much) and to be honest, I could care less what color our QB is, as long as he puts us in the best position to win AND REPRESENTS OUR PROGRAM WITH CLASS(Jacory Harris was not a bad kid at all but was a bit of a clown, he IMO did not represent our program with very much class[dressing up like Tressell, talking about wearing a pimp suit to the Heisman as a soph] a little, but not much. Stephen Morris on the other hand was a class act, race has nothing to do with it)

The last person you want in the news headlines for negative stuff is the face of your football team(your QB).

Oh, and there is the whole thing that Gibson is a diva who I would prefer at WR(WRs can be divas, its ok lol[Randy Moss]).

Don't get me wrong, I would love to land Gibson, as long as he was coming in to play WR.

I'm dead serious when I say I would take that(Gibson at WR) over landing the #1 WR in the state Calvin Ridley.

I was responding to eliteproxy who said "a white guy?", and it was just a joke.

Cause he's an ATHLETE playing QB...

Not a real Quarterback.

He ain't making reads or running a well-oiled offense, he's running and gunning.

He also doesn't have the high character you'd want from a QB.

You're ****ing high.

Guys like him excel at the college level.

At the pros... I might agree with you. But this is the type of guy that goes to Auburn and kills it.

And we run an offense that is nothing like Auburn's.

Yes he might go to Auburn or O$U and light it up in those gimmicky offenses, but he is not a pro style QB and not the high character type kid you want being the face of your program.

You do not change your offense around to fit one recruit, you recruit players that fit your scheme.

I would love to bring him in as a WR, b/c his athletic ability is off the charts, but he has horrible accuracy, touch, pocket presence and QB awareness. If his first option isn't open, he takes off.

Sorry, but that is the last guy I want running our offense.

By your name I assume you also thought that Winky should have been offered to play QB here.

You are 100% wrong about that one too.

I would have loved to bring in Quinton Flowers as an ATH to play either WR or DB, but definitely not QB.

Yes, my screen name revolves around a 17 year old Quarterback from South Florida, not the Hall of Fame Boxer.

You know who fits our system? Preston Dewey...

He Sucks

Get back at me when Gus has this guy on the cover of Sports Illustrated and our QB who'll "fit the system" might be lucky enough to get a mention on page 57.

QB Torrance Gibson says he would be committed to Miami if they ran a spread offense w/ zone read: miami.247sports.com/Article/Torran…

http://247sports.com/Article/Torrance-Gibson-breaks-down-Auburn-Tennessee-Ohio-State-etc-28866727

1. Tennessee - “I talk to coach Butch Jones a lot. I talk to the wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni a lot. I’d like to talk to the quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian more so I know his plan. I do enjoy talking to coach Zach. They have a great school and campus. They play in a great conference that I like.”

1. Auburn - “I spend a lot of time talking to (quarterbacks) coach Rhett Lashlee and have gotten a feel for him. I’m comfortable with him. His offense does work. They made a beast out of Cam Newton. They have a great class coming in this year. They made it to the BCS title game last year. They have a plan and its working.”

3. LSU - “(Quarterbacks) coach Cam Cameron is a great coach. I get to talk to their head coach (Les Miles). He’s a great guy to talk to. Coach Cameron is a great offensive coordinator and a great person in general. They have a great facility and football team. I’m going to visit them soon, probably for an official (visit).”

4. Oklahoma - “I talk to (quarterbacks) coach Josh Heupel a lot. He came to my school and watched me in spring practice. He saw me throw the ball. I talk to him a lot on Twitter. I called him a couple of days ago. I haven’t talked to their head coach (Bob Stoops) yet. I’m definitely going to be visiting them again.”

5. Ohio State - “It’s just the staff and (Buckeyes head coach) Urban Meyer is a great coach. They have a great offensive coordinator (Tom Herman). Braxton Miller is leaving after this year and they are looking for someone to fill his spot. Even though they took a four-star quarterback (Joe Burrow) that doesn’t change my opinion of them. The Buckeyes are still a great program. I’ll visit them for the first time in the fall for an official visit. I talk to (Director of Player Personnel) Mark Pantoni and Urban on Twitter. I haven’t talked to coach Herman in a while. That’s probably why they are No. 5 for me.”

6. Miami - “I’d be committed there right now if they ran a spread offense that runs the zone-read. That’s the kind of offense that best fits me. I hear from Al Golden, (quarterbacks) coach James Coley and (running backs) coach Hurlie Brown. I talk to them on Facebook and Twitter. They’ve been recruited me since the eighth grade and they are still pushing and recruiting me hard.”

7. Central Florida - “It’s just the coaches at UCF. They stay in contact with me. I haven’t heard from them in two or three days but I know I’m going to see the campus this summer for the first time and talk ball. It will be like my Spring Tour. I’m going to see the academics and dorms and rooms and talk ball and have fun.”

The nation’s No. 14 overall prospect regardless of position will visit Auburn this for ‘Big Cat’ weekend, starting Friday.

“I’m going with my teammates Tarvarus McFadden and Dredrick Snelson,” Gibson said. “I’m looking forward to talking to the coaches again and getting a feel again for the campus and having fun.”

In June, Gibsonn will head to Tennessee for its quarterback camp, which will feature Jon Gruden. He’ll also be at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore., in July.

Gibson’s plan remains to take all of his official visits in the fall before making his decision.

“I’ll probably make my commit a week or two after my season is done,” Gibson said.

Which offensive schemes among his finalists does he feel best fit his skill set?

“Tennessee, Ohio State and Auburn,” he said.

As a junior, Gibson threw for 1,864 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 1,032 yards and 10 touchdowns leading his team to a state championship.

If I'm high then you're retarded.

Guys like him excel in spread/option schemes...MAYBE...but we don't run that **** down here.

He's not a great passer. He's not "heady". He doesn't make reads. He's a run-and-gun high school QB. Heritage's whole passing offense was based on him running around and chucking the ball to McKenzie.

You're tellin' ME about the kid and you've probably never even seen him live. I have access to Heritage's Hudl account and have watched every game twice over.

And SOSs can be overrated at times.
I've read De La Salle in California doesn't even play SOSs, and they've still won a whole buncha State Titles.
IMO, they're showcase events if anything.

Team 7-on-7's are vital IMO. They build team chemistry, gives the kids a chance to bond while out of town, does wonders for your pass defense and polishes the timing between your QB and WR's.

The all-star 7-on-7's are what I hate. It's BS. It's a recruiting tool for high schools.

These people don't understand, they see the highlight film and think it's amazing. I heard all the hype about him and then I watched the state finals game. It was all Sony and McKenzie. All he did was throw screens. I was like d@mn anybody can play qb in that system. He never showed any elite passing skills at all and whats funny is that he knows he sucks as a qb and will have to use a system where he doesnt need a playbook just hand signals. He's a smart kid for knowing his weakness. He will be absolutely garbage here. I'm glad he was 6 and wish we we off the list.

He was Miami's to lose, but we don't run the offense for him. So, oh well. McKenzie would have probably committed to Miami too but he's just too small
